Peugeot Help please!!

Hi all
Just bought a 206 2.0HDi from my local dealer and I've got a problem and I don't know where I stand.
I asked for ABS to be fitted and I just found out today with near dire concequences to myself and new car that it does not have it fitted! (Basically some idiot coming towards me at speed on my side of the road. Slammed on the brakes and everything locked up!!)
Just phoned up the dealership and they said I knew that ABS wasn't fitted and I was happy about that. *****!!
Biggest problem is I've just been going through the paper work and I have no copy of the invoice what should I do.
Cheers
Mike

If theres nothing on the order form or invoice then unfortunetly you might be out of luck If you've lost it or wasnt given it, then the garage will have to have one for VAT and other reasons). All Dealers (reputable ones anyway) create deal files for all sales of new and used vehicles which includes order forms, pdi request, valet, etc so they should have a copy!
On the plus side did you sign the delivery paperwork, etc the one that goes through the handover procedure? Any Dealer selling a car has to notify the new owner of all the gadgets on it and agreed specs, extras. This is because they have to be aware of the controls of certain things like indicators, wipers so in the event of an accident the new owner is aware of any changes from their previous vehicle. Eg: they dont use the wipers when turning left, etc. Most salesman dont do it to save time!
I've known cases in the past where cars have come from the factory either normal production or special order and the parts, extras, etc aren't done. They dont get picked up on Pdi's as the technician is'nt aware of whats what and nor does the salesman/order taker. A clasic example from years ago on a Mk2 Escort....front brakes...one side had discs and the other had drums??? wtf!!
Sorry this is a bit long winded (too many beers last night ) but i hope it helps.
Nath
PS: Forgot to mention earlier that if the car is on some kind of finance agreement you wont get the usual top copy and will get a photocopy if your lucky. If this is the case and the garage wont play ball then contact the finance house asap as sometimes (only sometimes) they'll with hold payment to the dealer or help you in some way..just a thought!

D'oh!!
Thanks for that, it's not just that it's missing the ABS but there was damaged to the drivers door which they have said they will "touch up"
Could the ABS be fitted afterwards or is it only factory spec?
I'm having one of those weeks!

factory spec i would have thought as it may need different hubs wiring loom and certainly an ecu of some sort not to mention a high pressure pump and different brake lines.
