The thing to remember with Porsche they often Err on the side of caution when they publish performace figures, and the official figures can often be bettered.......

Bikes wouldn't whoop it lads, being an ex-biker myself figures don't tell the whole story on the road......ie. my stg 3 Cossie keeps up with alot of bikes that SHOULD waste me into next week!!! Something to do with a little thing called torque once rolling.

Could also be down to the size of the riders ***** - absolutely wringing the neck off a superbike is an intense experience and takes a lot of bottle - especially in close proximity to other traffic.

Yes I have the 13 year extended Ford warranty, surely everybody does?? I know about power to weight ratio's aswell but like I say, I used to own a couple of bikes eg. GSXR750 & a YZF750R that was race tuned & I'm telling you that especially above 100mph there isn't much in it between a stg3 cossie & most bikes....especially if the bike isn't in EXACTLY the right gear for the speed.
I've had run-in's with a Fireblade & a GSXR1000 & don't say they weren't trying because with the Blade (when the car was stg1)it was from a standing start with a rapidly approaching blind off camber left hand corner with him right beside me from a standing start......he only JUST started to overtake me as we were going over 110mph & he wasn't giving up so I had to slap the brakes on in order to stop him getting killed as there was no way he was giving up.
The other time against the GSXR1000 from 60-130mph there was very little in it, he was creeping away & then & had him on the corner (dual carriageway going into a single carriageway) & then he couldn't get past until we got into a 40mph area & he decided he wasn't gonna slow down...DICK!!!
And before you say it, perhaps these people couldn't ride very well but they had enough bottle to do pretty big speeds....but there are alot of crap riders out there in my experience so in most cases there isn't much in it.

I had a run-in with a cossie a few months back on the motorway, on my 955i Triumph Daytonna (tooth lower on the front sprocket). Must be putting out about 115bhp at the rear wheel.
We were coming out of a 40mph roadworks, me sat behind him in the outside lane. He floored it, and I followed. Had to work the bike to stay with him, but I had a significant advantage in terms of acceleration. At about 140-150mph he pulled aside to let me pass, but as we were approaching other cars, and I didn't fancy maintaining that speed, I eased off and pulled behind him.
Don't know what stage it was but had an aftermarket exhaust on it. Remember being very surprised at the time, as I had to work the bike hard.

in a stright line you have no chance. something called power to weight ratio.
