Looking for a bit of advice on what tyres to go for. The car is an Almera 1.4SI (no **** taking please it`s great for town driving!) and I`m after a set of new boots for it.
I`ve currently got Dunlop SP Sport D62m (175/65 R14) on it just now, good in the dry but a bit twitchy in thew wet. So what I was looking for was a decent set of tyres that won`t bust the bank but are of good quality and are a good all round tyre i.e Goodyear, Dunlop, Bridgestone etc etc.
Does anyone have any advice from experience on this matter as I`d be much obliged,

Cheers in advance.

I had a Golf with the same size tyre- I used Goodyear Ventura's which worked very well in the wet.

ronnie remoulds would do fine, as long as they are speed rated to 74mph....(be a good laugh in the wet too!!!)

could try http://www.colwaytyres.co.uk/ dirt cheap remouds but very good quality. They are used but numerous rally teams and are the control tyre for the Porsche 924 Cup Championships. Don't be put off my the remould tag they're worth a look.

Pirelli P6000's ??

It's the only tyre I've used in the last 3 years after trying Michelin, Goodyear and Dunlop.
