A mate just emailed me to say a guy he knows got one. Just looked on autotrader, and although a bit old, they look like a monster with lots of extras.
2.5 Twin turbo
4.0 N/A (must be a great nitrous candidate)
Do these things seriously punish?

very underrated cars, there is a great english owners club. The 2.5 litre engine was used int the previous generation supra and the 4litre in the Lexus LS400 or Toyota Celsior as its called in Japan. The 2.5 litre engine has great tuning capabilities. Interior is cossy and there is also a digital dash, a very good factory fitted sound system and the 4 litre had a satellite navigation too, which was also voted the easiest to use satellite navigation a title that lost recently to the one from LS430. They also have an electronically adjustable suspension. The engines are both robust. the internet site address is here

That car was sold over in the states as the SC400 or SC300. Lots of toys (tho some are non-functional in the UK), & very cheap nowadays.
The current Lexus SC430 is actually a Soarer.

Been away from Scoobynet for a while, so I am playing catch up at the moment in the threads that I can offer some advice in.
Some of the things to look out for with Soarers are
on the V8's the power steering reservoir can leak fluid onto the alternator causing it to fail. If purchasing a V8 you should insist that the reservoir seals are changed as part of the deal.
The rather smart digital display can suffer the infamous blinky dash. If you can solder, then this is fairly easy to repair and the parts to fix can be purchased from somewhere like maplins for about a pound, although most early cars will of had this repair done by now I would of thought.
If the aircon blows cold, then this is more than likely to be the heater control valve which will cost about £45 to purchase from the Soarer owners club online shop.
If the car cuts out for no reason then this is probably the fuel injection ECU which costs about £200 to replace.
The aircon control/display panel lights can fail over time and these I believe can be replaced using grain of wheat bulbs.
There is an on board diagnostics mode which you should run if looking to purchase one of these cars. More information can be found as stated before on the Soarer owners club website.

Mate of mine has one in the US a SC400. He didnt let me drive it as it was a company vehicle but I went out in it a few times and it was pretty nippy with that 4.0 litre engine. Huge amounts of toys as well. He had the same engine that they fit to the LS400.
