Lotus Elise - who's had one ?
#1
A couple of questions based on an S1 :-
1.Does the roof leak ? how bad ?
2.How much luggage space ? i.e enough to fit 2 weeks worth of clothing for 2 people ?
3.Road noise at 80 mph how bad ?
4.Does a hard top mean no water leaks and a good reduction of road noise ?
Many thanks

Try going to this link http://www.british-cars.co.uk/cgi-bi...nprog=lotusbbs and ask in the Elise forums, you might get a better response than in here!

I had one...for a day.
As I remember, boot was a bit of a squeeze. You could prob get the clothes in there, but not the cases. Roof never leaked, easy to use too. It was noisy at 80mph. Nice for the day, but prob too much every day. Didn't have a hard top. Overall, a lot of fun.

I've got one so...
1) Yes, how bad varies, mine hardly at all
2) Bugger all, struggle to get my squash kit in. Me and g/f did weekend away, 2 weeks not a chance
3) Mine's a 111s with CRG so feckin noisy, don't know what standard is like...
4) My hard top is totally dry unless it's pi55ing down then lets in a few drops, you can seal it you can be arsed.
It is without doubt the most impractical and frustrating car I have ever owned.
It is also the most fun I have ever had on 4 wheels, I love it to bits and miss it when I can't drive it. Drive one and you'll know whether it's for you or not.
Can't wait for the summer...
Cheers
