It will run fine on NUL, but the ECU will adjust for higher grade fuels, it will see a slight mpg increase and improved smoothness with SUL, would image that Optimax should be much the same.

Think I'm qualified to help

I ran my VTS on 95 for about the first month and then switched to Esso 97 superunleaded which I ran it on for most of its life. I felt that it was smoother and a little more urgent on the SUL. I also got a fair bit extra miles from it which ofset some of the extra cost. Just before I sold it I switched to Optimax which seemed to be about the same as SUL but I can't comment as I didn't run it on optimax for that long.

If I had a VTS again I'd still run it on a higher quality fuel than supermarket 95RON. Hope this helps

I always ran my VTS on Optimax and got a big increase in MPG over normal UL - Deffo the one to use.

Cool

I ran my VTS on standard 95 ron and it was fine. Then decided to do a full decat & induction kit. I then switched to esso super which with these mods the car was more lively on super.

Did the car respond well to the de-cat and exhaust?

I've hear a lot of peeps on Saxosportsclub complaining about loss of power from decating. Remember that n/a's need a decent amount of back pressure to produce torque lower down.

Cool

Scott, I used a Magnex system developed by ABP Motorsoport & Magnex, Their special Magnex uses 1 box and not the two of the standrad system, with the decat pipe & K&N 57i kit. I also changed the plugs for splitfire tripple plat. The car revved so much better and had much more pull higher up the rev range or say on motorway overtaking. I did think though it gave it a slight flat spot between 2-3000 rpm. I probably should have taken it to be set up correctly but didn't bother. When I came to sell the car I took of all the bits to sell (K&N still avail). While driving standard back to the dealership the low end grunt upto 3k had been restored. Maybe this is what other owners are reporting. I sold the system to a guy on saxoparts.com who loves it.
