Service Intervals on a CTR?
#4
Not an owner, but test drive on Saturday so we'll see
Tank capacity is 50 litres, fuel figures: urban 23mpg, extra-urban 40.4mpg, combined 31.7mpg. All from http://www.honda.co.uk
No idea about service intervals, was wondering myself...

Don't take it personally - there have been sooooooo many CTR questions recently, I think people are getting bored.
service intervals - every 12,000 miles.
Had mine serviced at 6000 miles to change from semi-synth to fully synth. Whilst the engine is running in, it drinks the semi like you wouldn't believe!
Fuel - I average 260/270 miles on a £35 tank of super unleaded beacause its so difficult to keep it below 5000 revs where ever you go.

Im asking as a Scoob owner who is getting a bit depressed seeing 200 miles to a £42 tank of Optimax, service bills of £450, service intervals of 7500 miles/6 months, vandalism etc etc.
Would like the views from anyone whose gone from Scoob to CTR and if theyve noticed a difference on their wallet.
Simon.

12000 miles or one year
Servicing costs according to dealer
12000 miles - £100ish
24000 miles - £200ish
36000 miles - £300ish
Brake pads £100 fitted, which is cheaper than paying £100 for just the Subaru pads
Petrol consumption is better than the Subaru, but depends how you drive it.

Perhaps to save the forum of anymore CTR chat, you might want to visit www.civictype-r.co.uk as there is an interesting thread about Scooby owners who have bought CTR's. Some very good viewpoints IMO!
To sum it up though the CTR IMHO is a great car, however depending on how tuned your Scoob is it may be a slight let down? However if you really want a quickish hot hatch FWD, good economy (booting it alot on A and B roads 240 miles to a tank of optimax!) low servicing costs 12k miles as mentioned the yeah seriously consider it!
Just my opinion of course!
Dave (Would love a scoob but affording to run it is not going to happen! CTR instead!)
