Can I ask a favour of anyone that can be bothered. Can you please find a quiet, straight, flat road and test your 65-105 time. I know its fairly crude but use a stop watch if need be and start the timer just before she hits 65 and stop it just after she moves of 105. This should give a very good IMO indication of 60-100mph time. (speedo over-reads by approximatly that much)
Please don't quote the book figures cause I know what they are - I'm looking for real life experiences. Also please trying running both ways if possible and make all attempts to reduce timing error.
The point of this is not to slag the CTR..I'm expecting some good times here
If any other marques want to post their time then that if fine but please wait till the CTR boys have posted theirs as I don't want them fudging the figures to look competative
Disclaimer: You do this at your own risk. I'm asking nicely for peeps to do this as a favour nothing more

60-120....interesting.....might have to have a go sometime
Any volunteers for the 65-105 in CTRs??? The roads are empty today....which, ahem, will make it all the easier to get to your private air fields

Sorry, should have been more specific...do it through the gears using whatever gears you feel will give the best time.
I selected 3rd gear and nailed it at about 50mph, just before the needle hit 65 I started the clock and as soon as it moved of 105 I stopped it. This way, if anything, my times will be fractionally slower than what they are. If you pick the correct airstrip its very easy to do as you can speedo watch a lot of the time.

60 to 120 is better
I think you are doing it wrong, IMHO. You should be at a constant speed before nailing it as that is more representative of "real life", or are you doing it from a rolling start to avoid the sudden acceleration causing fuel surge?
PS I know its christmas and I should have good will to all men, but I just couldn't resist, SORRY Mr Saxoboy!

what your after is a "through 60-100" time, why don't you just look at various magazines that have already tested the 0-60 and 0-100 with "decent timing equipment" to work out the 60-100, and then take an average if you think some vary.
My car officially Gti-R has been timed at:
0-60 4.5
0-60 12.3
= 60-100 in 7.8secs.
I hoping to get closer to 4.3 and 11.5 with new mods in January and get the 60-100 down to 7.2secs
The Lotus Carlton is quick for an off the shelf saloon....0-60 in 4.8 and 0-100 in 10.6 means 60-100 in 5.8, I even seen it down to 5.6 in some mags! A Mac F1 does 3.1secs.
The Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo is impressive for just 220bhp....0-60 in 6.0 but 0-100 in 14.5 means 8.5 seconds.

Ok, better explain why I want this info. It started as a thread on SSC and the topic starter suggested we do speedo 65-105 to get a representation of 60-100. By knowing the gearing I checked a true enough an indicated 65 in my car is actually 60 and so on. The thread was going well until the CTR boy posted their results. Despite being standard they were significantly faster than what you get if you subract the 0-60 front the 0-100 time in most mags.
Knowing that the CTR drivers on this site are usually more honest and more mature I figured they would try their best to get reasonably accurate times......still waiting

Travis how much power and torque have you got? 2 or 4wd? I had a stab at the 60-120 on the way home in 4th and got about 12.5....car was feeling pretty slow today.

Funny, I measured some times off DD recently, averages of a few runs in opposite directions on a flat bit of road, same errors as the speedo from what I've seen.
65-105 5.9 seconds
105-125 4.7 seconds
These were at 1.4 bar held boost.

Still waiting for the official CTR results but going by what the SSC boys said the CTR would rip seven shades of **** out of your S3 from 60-100. I expect it might be quicker but not as much quicker as they say

The RS4 does 0-60 in 4.9 seconds, 0-100 in 11.3 and 0-124mph in 17.4 seconds. So that is 60-100 in 6.4 and 60-120 in 12.3.
The RS4 is no slouch either! I would expect a P1 to be a decent amount slower than that.

Rip seven shades of $hit? From experience that is no way the case! There is nothing in it. I can tell you it is more down to the driver as I have often got the upper hand against these cars.

Hmmmm, I'll test it again...either the RS4 stats are underplayed or I had a tail wind becaue there is no way in hell my car would stay with an RS4 from 60-120. That test was using 4th gear only by the way, through the gears it would have been quicker

It's interesting to read that. I will try the S3 again but I'm afraid I can't test the RS4....errr....it's broken down.
Auto car did the S3 as: 0-60 = 6.4, 0-100 = 16.4 so they also found 10 seconds. Anyway I'll try not to hijack your post!
I think they also found the Civic Type R as about 16 seconds to 100mph and a standard MY2001 WRX as 17?
You will find all of these cars are similar from 60-100mph:
Civic Type - R,
Integra Type - R,
Accord - R,
Astra Turbo,
Fiat Coupe Turbo,
Audi S3/TT225,
Impreza Turbo (standard),
ST200,
RS Focus.
The Fiat is probably the quickest and the Accord the slowest. I am not really talking about book times but on the road experiences.
