Just done some recent pics of my GF's 73 beetle if anyone is interested.
Still a lot of work to do <just had engine rebuild> including full bare metal respray in a couple of months.

she goes on VZi (i think thats volkszone) and ItsADubThing (and here of course).
The flowers will no longer be on there when its resprayed. everyone on her forums goes on bout the zoom tube, but i think its ok as I don't like the standard exhaust note of beetles, so i insist on her keeping it
Mods to come = better brakes (they are scary, the engine exceeds them now) and H4 headlight conversion and possibly driving spots for down lanes etc.

Looks good, although generally I'm with met, the flat screen bugs were the best, I lent mine to a mate & he killed it
I've always fancied building another (a 1303 this time) with a lairy cam & mapped management, but I don't think I could live without all the modern comforts, like heaters

She's always loved all beetles and its her baby.
it has a heater - but i think it just pipes straight off the exhaust, smells that way
The suspension etc is supposedly better on the 1303s. It seems to go ok, 1600 etc. The speedo lies tho - it says 80 is top We've seen it at more (admitedly it blew an oil seal the same day...)
Dunno if you saw the posts i put on here with a bug with a Scooby engine in and also one with a wankel rotary !!

I've got a book somewhere with a standard looking beetle with a carrera engine in.Reckon that would be a gas!
Can we see the scooby engined beetle again?
Do like the look of the panel van, looks like a train from the front.
