Prices of the Evo VIII were confirmed in the Sunday Times today - £26,995.

Changes are revised nose, new alloys, upgraded interior, six speed box, more supple suspension. Still 276Bhp.

A bargain?

What about servicing?
Is it still 4500 miles or 6 months?

Been extended due to revised AYC, the 4,500 was only to chnage AYC fluid. I would always servicce every 6 months anyway and a oil change as a minimum.

There are various versions as well so there are different prices depending on which model E8 you buy.

Cool

If you do the AYC yourself, one it is cheaper and two, you avoid the every 4500 mile service for pre Evo VIII's.

It only becomes an issue if you can't be ar5ed to learn about your car and be prepared to do it yourself.

But as Chris says, this has been revised and the servicing is now further apart.

The trouble is, you really need the Mutt 2 diagnostic tool when changing the AYC fluid, otherwise it's almost impossible to get all the oil out of the AYC unit

Daryl,
You only need the MUT to change the AYC activaation fluid and that doesn't have to be changed every 4,500 miles because it doesn't come into contact with any moving parts.
There are 3 oils in the Evo's AYC. There is the std diff oil, the AYC oil in the clutch packs and then the activation fluid.

The diff oil and the oil in the clutch packs are what need to be changed at 4,500 miles and can both be changed just like a std rear diff i.e. open the drain plug, let it all come out and then refill it.

The activation fluid needs the MUTII to activate the AYC pump to pressurise all of the oil out of the system to ensure a complete change.
