Question

There were 2 variants, a 1600 rs turbo, 130bhp and an 1800 rs turbo (133bhp i think). 0-60 in around 7.5 secs.
Try www.evo.co.uk for some specs on the cars though

Fiesta RS Turbos were all 1600, approx 130bhp

The 1600 and 1800 fiesta's where the XR2i, and the RS1800.
There may have even been to versions of the 1800, the highest having 130bhp also, non turbo. which replaced the RS Turbo

1800s were either late XR2i 16V (105BHP, around 9.5 secs to 60) or RS1800 (130BHP, around 7.5 secs to 60).

The RS1800 is commonly reckoned to be a better motor as standard than the RST but of course when it comes to modding there is no comparison, the blower makes big power much more accessible.

The reason i've asked all this is because the other day i had 2 debadged fiestas behind me, they both decided to be stupid and kept getting close to my bumper. I didnt response and so they undertook me and they both ended up at the front of the lights (being red) I was behind the one with vents, and i knew that they were blatently going to drag. They were revving their engines and everything, then the lights went green. I heard their exhausts very loud, so i put my foot down, and i almost hit the back of one of them. I really expected for them to go much faster but obviously not. Ah well maybe my scooby is quicker than i thought lol

Wink

Hmm mine only had a Stage one chip/actuator but once moving was close to classic speed and defo faster then a fugly. 165bhp / 930kg Ask Robertio he was as shocked as me how fast it was once chipped & set up Loads of look-a-likes and but most FRST's are knackered these days. And as for a glorified shopping trolly - whats a scoob? Just can take more shopping!

It's a Turbo'd small car, with a nice turn of speed. Whats the problem. Who care's if it's a Ford. Can everyone get over this Badge snobbery. Very Boring.
If god hadn't invented Scoobs, how many of these Snobs would drive a Cossie?
Answer = All the ones who couldn't afford an Evo. These would be the same people floating round MLR defending their Blue Oval.

It wasn't a direct stab at you dazc2. Usually these threads end up being Uncle Henry versus the Fuji boys. IMO a complete waste of good web space as everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
There is a reason why Mr X bought his Car Y. Thats his business. As Mr X is a car fan, he may join a BBS to share his passion. For what ever reason he may sign up with Scoobynet, and until the day when Scoobynet is for Scooby owners only, he is perfecly welcome. If the Snobs want to tell him his car is cack thats their business, but in my eyes thats not what this forum is all about. Everyone be merry and get along.

I apologise if their is a registered Mr X on Scoobynet.
By the way does any one drive a Y car? Because IMO they are cack.

I ran the Rs 1800, nice car Loved bends i milked some very quick cross coutry times out of it. I sold it because the brakes/age had caught up with it.

Looked round and found Ford had got into bed with "*** Labour" They "Fagged" the whole range of Fords, no more fast Fords! (Fools!)

Went to a 306 GTI-6, hated it, chopped it in for the Honda CTR. That fast Ford smile is back on my face again!

Ford need to wake up, or they will be losed forever!
(the RS is to flawed and expenisve, THe ST170 is just GAY!)
