Buying cars with known problems...
#1
I'm thinking about buying a car, which has a knackered clutch to the extent it can't be driven.
Would sort of precautions should I take when looking at a car like this?
I was thinking of getting a AA inspection done on the car, but would they come out to a car like this?
FYI it's a Corolla GTI, I have one at the mo but it has some bits of rust appearing and someone as made me a ofer I can't refuse for it.
But the main thing about this car it's has pretty much everything done to it which I had planned to do on my car but my car doesn't seem worth it now.

I guess the only thing you've got to look out for are other problems, i.e if the clutch has gone, how hard was it driven and is anything else about to go! You take yer chances.....and all that!

How serious/worried are you about other problems and how expensive is it? If a very good price and it makes financial sense, get it towed to the AA for the inspection. Else as usual you pays your money you takes your chances. Good luck!

The best advice I heard on things like this (actually damaged repairables, but the same theory) is not to look at what is damaged, pay more attention to figuring out what is still good.
