Hi Gang
Very sorry to hear this news, but i am afraid there is far worst to come. This is the start of a major down trend for UK PLC, those stuid house prices, just wait 6 months and see how far they fall!
News just in on more than a thousand sacked at Landrover, and i hear rummors up here at Halewood (Jag plant). MGR can't be too far behind either. The furture is turning black my friends!
Once again, sorry to hear your news Monzza
Cheers
Mega.

Know the feeling.
I have 14 years marketing planning experience and a huge amount to offer in energy and knowledge...but can I find a job since being made redundant? There seem to be about 3 with 5,000 people chasing them.
So I am lorry driving at the mo, which I like, but it only pays some of the bills.
So best wishes m8. Keep your chin up. Never give up.
Their are a few of us in the same boat

If you're in IT, there are still perm jobs available, if you're willing to travel, but the companies are even more picky than usual and rates/packages are lousy...
It's also much easier to move when you've got a position already, but then I don't need to tell you that; speaking as someone who's lined up for a position involving frequent cross-atlantic travelling, just in case the annual pre-festive resource cull wields the X'Mas baseball bat over my head.

Get with an injection moulding company like mine. We make taps for water and wine. Recession is good for us. People drink more. War is good too. People store water. Funny how the world works. The worse the economy gets the better we do. 80% export and based in London.

Been made redundant three times ... once in the 1960s, twice in the 1980s. After disappointment, on each occasion things improved after the initial setback.
Funny thing is, retrained in IT in early 1980s (anyone still programming in Fortran, Cobol etc? ... .... but told then that at 37, far too old for a job in IT. Need experience to get a job. But, cant get experienced without a job ... DOH! catch 22 and all that. No wonder UKPLC struggles for survival. Everyone wants to back only certainties. ... what ****shine. Muppets! Being interviewed by a spotty faced 20 something and being told that is some experience. Latest (third redundancy)occasion, then aged 48, applied for three jobs and was offered all three!!! Attitudes had changed somewhat by that time ...... hey! People realise experience is useful after all and not a threat to spotty faced youngsters ... There's hope for us all after all ....
Funny old game life ... let's hope UKPLC will excel at more things than getting it wrong. Need to!
