The engine will only be good for 1500 miles anyway, so i wouldn't bother running it in!!!

But to be more helpful, i would vary the rev range (below 4000rpm) for a while, then cane the **** of it to loosen it up a bit!!

My mate has just taken delivery of a brand new Corsa (SRi I think). The guy from Vauxhall who delivered it said he didn't need to bother running it in as it was a Vauxhall, and you don't have to run their cars in. Does anyone know if this is true?
The car only has 100 miles on it, so I suggested to take it easy for the first 1000 to 1500 or should he not bother?

That seems to be what most vauxhall owners believe, judging by the amount that rag the **** out of their cars!
...modern engines are less delicate than their predecessors but it still doesn't hurt to run them in
