A word of warning, Lotus= Lots of trouble usally ****. On the Elise the Suspensions are shagged by 20,000 miles as are the steering racks. They need a lot of TLC, ask your mate to look at the Lotus BB and read the posts. If he wants to go ahead fine, but if he reads up on the subject he may decide other wise.
Cheers

Mega one word, 'Boll0cks'. My car has done 41k miles, and neither the suspension nor the steering rack is in any way shagged. It has never had a single thing go wrong with it, and has never broken down. In fact mate, it has been the most reliable car I have ever owned!
If I ran around on here saying to everyone who asked about scoobs - never buy one because they all go bang after 20k miles, and they cost £5k per year to run, I would expect to get a similar response!!
Rarrange the following words into a popular phrase - 'ar$e' 'out' 'you' 'of' 'are' 'talking' 'your'.
