has anybody owned or driven either of these cars?
im thinking of selling scoob for a "more practical family car" and safety is a requirement, so is space, comfort and of course i want to still get some sort of buzz when i rarely take it out. ive been looking at the 4.2 quattro sport and the v70 T5.

any comments are welcome as ive driven neither car

mind if I hijack the thread a bit?
having the same thoughts myself - I was considering the following as fun alternatives to a WRX 5 door:
Audi A8; audi S4 avant;
BMW 540 touring or old shape M5; maybe a 7-series

hadn't considered the Volvo though.

out of your choice of A8 or Volvo, the A8 has more potential for expensive maintenance requirements, but is a different class altogether....

m8 tied all of the above,i rekon the A8 is the best by far 4.2 quattro's are great to drive they last for years ,very rarley go wrong and you get loads of xtra's, there cheaper to service than the bmw's ,also cheaper to buy although you dont get much back when you come to sell. the volvo on the other hand seems to hold the money a little better, always felt that the volvo was a little under powered for a car of that size and that the engine was always working at it's limit, although very reliable. old shape M5 was my dream car up until a couple of months ago when i drove one , not that much better than my old 535sei ,but they come with all the xtra servicing costs and insurance. when it's time to pack the scooby in and given the choice i think it would have to be the A 8 quattro.
