We are having a small debate over on the MLR about the ralliart evo6 GSR press car(the one auto car test drove). It turfed out a 4.4s 0-60 and a 11.2 0-100.This do seem very impressive as standard but people are saying that the ralliart press car was modified.I know it had a HKS supperdragger exhaust but thats it.The question is can a standard evo6 GSR put in performance figures mentioned above with the correct driver and start. And does anyone have actual performance figures for the evo6.Would just like to know cos there are no prints anywhere covering this.

There was a similar rumour about the Maestro turbo press car where it achieved a 0-60 of 6.9secs.It's in their interest to give the boost a little tweak.
I know Evos are quick but from the ones I've seen timed at Trax and various 1/4 miles,I'd say it's more like 0-60 in 5secs or so.Even the lighter weight won't knock more than a couple of tenths or so off the time.

Yeah, I was suspicious about it as well at the time of the road test( S6 GSR ), which I incidentally still have here. It came out about the same time as my Evo arrived.

No other magazine has reproduced those figures since then with other cars. Autoexpress tested S6 GSR and also came up with astonishing figures for it.

A bit like the Skoda Octavia RS that Skoda released to the press...

The Evo's I saw running down Santa Pod were a little disappointing in my opinion after having read about the claimed times in magazines.

There were also some suspiciously quick Scooby test times on MY97 cars.

But then again quick times are to do with good launch control etc. Most people will never get even close to the claimed figures due to driver skill and not wanting to **** their cars.
At the end of the day who knows if the cars are tweaked.
But a good figure for a standard E6 GSR is about 4.8 to 60 and 13s to 100.

The Autocar test figures for the EVO VI do seem a bit too quick, however... their EVO V test car managed 0-60 in 4.7 and 100 in 12.3 and I think we would all agree the that the EVO VI is likely to be slightly faster (despite identical power and torque claims). So, was the EVO V test car also non standard, or does this make the figures a bit more believable? Maybe it was just a very good example of the car doing a 'perfect' run on a grippy track?

Having owned a VI, I suspect the boost was tweaked a little to achieve those figures. I suspect it goes on all the time. It probably accounts for how a nissan skyline with approx 170bhp/ton posts sub-11second 0-100mph times too.

Opinion on the Lancer BBS is that the car had a stage 1 conversion (or at very least had the boost turned up)
It was a bit more rapid than the standard car & considerably faster than an EVO5 the same mag tested a year before, & they have virtually the same power & weight etc.

Does anyone actially now what the official figures are for the evo6 GSR?I always thought that it was 4.8seconds 0-60 and around 12.9 seconds to 100.Does anyone have any info? There doesn't seem to have been any accurrate and official figures produced for the standard evo6 GSR.I don't think figures were given from mitsubishi..or not that I know.
