I though that too re the SLK, but already posted so left it!!
A 206 over an MX5 - are you mad
No chance, the MX5 beats the 206 at everything hands down LOL!! Except having a hard roof

LOL - each to their own - I can't stand the looks of the pug!!! (the 2l is less powerful than the 1.8 mazda, but these cars that don't really matter unless your a bloke )
Still, would rather have my missus in a gold plated MX anyday
Be boring if everyone thought the same

Apart from the Pug 206cc I dont think there are any more on the market at the moment, not any worth having.
You could cheat and get a BMW 3 series cab with a hard top??
Otherwise convertibles for this money will be tired!!

Yep it does m8 - rear heated windown and very easy roof to do up and put down - done in secs. The Mk1 wasn't glass but the Mk2 from 1998 on did have it!
Like I said, also pretty sure the Z3 does too....

Lets be honest, your not buying one of these for performance are you?, I wouldnt be. Its about image, and the MX-5, well, I hate them, I dont doubt thier ability as a small rwd roadster but I wouldnt own one if you paid me, and I really meant that, I hate them almost as much as I hate MR2s of ANY varient - urrghh.
The little Pug looks a million times better and has a hard roof to boot, plus its a 2ltr isnt it?, so it wont hang around. Ok, may not be as good as the MX-5 for driving thrills but I still choose the Pug, any day of the week!
WOuldnt have either in real life so IAm looking at this as in the bird wants a new car, what do I think?, I would hate to see my other half in an MX-5, might as well get her some nice gold to go with it!

If It was me buying the car then I would be looking for a Chiemera or Griffith, sod the glass window but its not me
Persoanlly I think the 206 looks like something Barbie would drive, it just doesn't do it for me as the car looks crap with the roof on and the rear quater is too high compared to the front of the car. It looks like its **** is in the air. I would go for the MX5 any day of the two better handleing and better looking.
For me a convertable should be designed as a roadster not a hatchback thats been taken to the chop shop and had its roof removed.

MR2 Roadster has a glass rear window.
And before anyone says it is a girls car, most of the Scooby drivers on here wouldn't get 100 yards down the road before losing control (not judging by recent posts anyway)

hi krade
why specifically is your friend looking for a cab with a glass back window?
i run a year 2000 pug 306 cab with the plastic rear window and have had no probs at all, i've even got a rear de-mister for when the windows get steamy as they do in most cars
any probs further than that, switch the air-con on, that clears all the 'windows'
tell your friend to open up the options on which cabrio to get, it certainly is worth looking at all normal cabrio's, unless of course theres a specific reason for wanting a glass screen
max
oh and if your friends interested i may put my back on the market for sale!
