Is there any difference between diesel from differing garages/supermarkets at all? Is there an Optimax equivalent

Apparently not -- I posted & asked the same a week or so ago, and the verdict was "any good diesel (Esso, Shell, BP etc) will do".

you can buy cetane boosters though (eqivalent of octane boosters for petrol)

you can buy cetane boosters though (eqivalent of octane boosters for petrol)
I would have thought you wanted to lower the cetane rating not boost it
