Just read in this months Evo that Mini has come 25th out of 28 manufacturers in the latest JD Power survey in the States.
Apparently the main complaint was that the cupholder wouldn't hold a large latte from Starbucks

I would have found the story believable until it came to the point about the cup holder, which is completely out of character for J D Power. Show me proof, or I'll regard you as a BS'itter.

Check out the July Evo page 19 right hand column
Although reading it again, the cupholder comment came from Mini themselves rather than JD Power so I don't know whether it had any bearing on the results
Probably just a way for Mini to divert attention from more serious problems!
Either way (unless Mini are BS'ing) I can't believe that people would actually complain about this sort of thing.

I've seen that aswell, such important things those Americans have got to think about eh?
I'm surprised they've sold so many over there, when I'm I was last in New York last year there were loads about then, and they'd only been launched a month!
Friends over there know the head of marketing for BMW/Mini in North America so must be doing well!

I have to admit I'm not a fan of the junior BMW. Similar retro styling job as the new beetle- why not something original? Also the engine- rough is one word for it. Still I have to admit I like the way the S sounds like it has the old cars gearbox whine from its supercharger. They are also good fun to drive even the One.

I'm with you there, loved it when it first came out, not so sure anymore I keep changing my mind about it and I really don't like that interior anymore although probs changed my mind about tomorrow lol

They are too much of a fashion statement IMO. They are on the same road as the TT and the new Beetle before it i.e. start at super cool and head inexorably downhill until they become about as fashionable as a mullett.
I'm not commenting on the dynamics or driving experience as I've never driven one. People I trust say they drive pretty well, but the same people raved about the Scooby and it's an overrated pile of cak...
