A friend has an Elise sport 160 that has been run over by a 4x4
The dozy cow reversed over the bonnet whilst sat at traffic lights and then give false information, car is in a mess and needs repairing.
Would like a good dealer in the south to handle the work.
Are Bell and Colville (?) any good? Lotus dealers?
Does Nito work there or did I make that up?
Where are B&C and does anyone have a URL for them?
Cheers for the info.

For gods sake do not take it to the Lotus dealer near Maidenhead.
If I was you, I'd look on the Elise BBS for the contact details (I don't have the details to hand) for Specialised Paintwork near Reading. They did a fantastic job on my mates' S1 and are nice people to boot.
Specialised do loads of work for Lotus dealers anyway, B&C will just take it to a body shop themselves and charge you for the privilege.

Hmm, this Elise has had a 4x4 up to the windscreen, not sure it's just a paint job, needs a new radiator and god knows what else is bent/broken under there.
Thanks for the responses, seems like B&C is a non started then.
Car is in Dorset by the way...

Rich -
All I can say is that Specialised's work is worth travelling for. If the damage is as you describe, the sacrificial crash structure at the front is going to need sorting, this might even be a new clam job? A Lotus dealer will want parts of your body for that.
If the damage is so bad upto the screen, you WILL need to check the chassis for damage. Specialised will be able to advise I'm sure.
Good luck!

Current recipient is looking to be "Lotus Sports and Performance Centre" at the Hethel factory near Norwich, was given the number by Lotus customer services.
Any horror stories or happy endings from there?
Thanks for the info folks.

Another vote for Sinclaire of London (the www.lotusrepair website). Top job on my S2 - although it was only nudged by a dozy neighbour, it did need the front clam removing and repairing then repainting, and it's better than new. Not as expensive as a main dealer either.

Rich,
A mate of mine works at Westover Sports Cars in Pimperne near Blandford, they have the local Lotus franchise, Haydons used to have it (in Salisbury) but Westovers got it last year, they have a busy workshop, but I think they get somone else to do the bodywork repairs, even so, it should be up to Lotus standards or it wouldn't be good for the marque would it, their no is 01258 451211
I could always ask my mate if he wants to do a 'homer' but it's probably an insurance job, so thats probably a no no!
Ron.
PS, they used to be the Ferrari franchise, and are currently TVR Lotus, Morgan, and Lexus, all on the one site.

Cheers RON, but being an insurance job and a fairly serious one he likes the idea of it going back to the factory, the main worry is whether the chassis is effected in any way, cosmetically it is not that bad, surely the factory has to be the best place to go for that... Not saying noone else can do it but you should be safe with the people that build em.
Thanks for the info guys, I have passed on the lotus repair centre details to all the other people I know with Elises, one of em is bound to need that soon
