Thinking about trading in my Scoob for one of these (now need more space for the family). Has anyone owned one or have knowledge of what to look out for?

Yours hopefully

50 built
6 sp box
nurburgring suspension (electric adjust)
most seem to sell in the £11500-£16000 range.
very reliable but obv. M parts can cost a fortune.
Make sure you buy an original (no silly after mkt wheels etc)
There are at least 5 for sale nationwide at the moment tat I know of as I was thinking about one of these just last week.

Thanks Vate,

Did you find out what service intervals where etc? Trying to work out whether there's a v expensive service all these punters are trying to avoid by selling (would expect something major at about 1oo,ooo miles). ELectronic suspension sounds pricey to mend.....

Hi Tang
Have just bought on of these and it is very different to the scoob i had. Try www.bmwm5.com where someone has asked this same question, some good advice on there.
As for the M5, you won't be dissapointed.

I have a 525 tds, and while obviously not the same thing, for the size of the car, the passenger space isnt that great. The boot is reasonably sized, but again, not as big as a car that size should have. Very big on the outside, not so big on the inside.
Despite that, I would fancy one myself, although I only dread to think about the repair prices if things went wrong. Ive had enough engine trouble with my tds, and its going to auction soon, as I couldnt be bothered with it. Suspension bushes dont last too long either at the front.
Cool car though, and I have no doubt it will easily smoke most subarus, and its rear wheel drive
