Just thought that id show you that Saabs are not all old mans cars!!, ive spent shedloads on it and lots of my time since i bought it last October, i reckon ive done around £4000 in parts.
I recently fitted a huge Volvo front mount intercooler where i had to make up the pipe work from scratch and rotate the (rebuilt by me) Garrett T3 compressor housing, it runs in front of the whole width and height of the radiator, ive got adjustable retard on the timing courtesy of an MSD boost timing master where i can dial in how much retard i get per 1psi of boost, im currently running 1.2bar!!
Opinions please!
Pete.

Not had it on the rollers yet but i know that Abbott racing do a conversion with a chargecooler, rising rate fuel pressure regulator and a boost increase to 1bar from 0.75-0.85ish and that gives 220bhp and i think about 250 lb/ft torque.
Ill be conservative and say around the same as that but i reckon about 230bhp and 260 lb/ft torque as im pushing around 1.2 bar, these cars are not about high reving bhp there all about torque which they have in abundance.
Its really crap off the line and i dont even bother in 1st but in gear when above say 40mph its mental and i can still fit all my Sons baby stuff in the boot to please the missus!

Realistically id be lucky to get more than £2-2.5k for it and thats only because its mint inside and out and has a very high spec, full tan leather, cruise, A/C and very rare Saab options like the whaletail and 16" Aero wheels.
As alot of people on this and other car sites you will never get money back spent on modifying cars but i had already put alot of money into it when other things gave up the ghost, you then face the dilema as to selling it for **** all or putting more money in and keeping it.
Guess you all know what im doing then!!- keeping it!!
Still with these its not the age its more the condition, ive seen some very ropey looking J-plate 900's around that i wouldnt give more than a grand for!

A labour of love! Nice looking car, mate.
My old man had a y reg one, not sure what spec and it had just short 300k miles on the clock before it was sent to heaven.

Dac,
Make sure you visit www.saabcentral.com then, its a great site, it used to be saab-900.com but they opened the site up to get a broader picture.
Its frequented by a good bunch of people who are a right laugh and the majority are under the average Saab age of 50+!!!!!!!, im 29 and by no means the youngest, i guess im just a old boy racer now!!
In fact there is a meeting coming up soon in North London at the Kodak premises in Harrow- get there if you can!
