You have to be carefull tho as there are 2 of them one has a 4 cylinders and uses the 3s-gte not the skylines one

any of you lot seen this already!

Jap Supra Nutter - 193mph

To quote from another forum...

"More info : It's a 1000bhp Supra on a British road it was brought over for Max Live a couple of years ago. The road is the then newly opened A1M between Alconbury & Peterborough - lovely bit of very fast road. And no, the Jap driver didn't get away! They were clocked doing somewhere close to 200mph and they were slowing down! Anyway, then editor Nigel Grimshaw spent several days appearing on TV denying that Max Power encouraged law-breaking and dangerous driving!

The driver is the mad git who runs Top Secret in Japan. He built the car specifically to bring it over here and crack 200 mph. He didn't quite do it and he got deported and banned from driving in the UK ever again and fined £300."

Wink

IIRC, he got a 14 day ban and 155squid fine.
When you've just spent 100k on the engine ALONE, he prolly paid it there and then with his loose change.

1000bhp my ****. 6-700, *tops*. As comparison, at the 10otb day, a 6-700bhp Skyline managed 196mph.

Skyline engine used as the Supra engine would apparently have produced too much torque, and made it even more undrivable. Plus they'd already done the R+D on the Skyline engine, plus the Skyline engine is revvier to start with.

That Supra in the vid has nothing like 1000bhp. I seriously doubt it has over 500, more like 400 to be honest. As comparison, a lightly modded Supra auto (only mods being FMIC, decat and boost controller) manages a 12.9 at Pod. A *standard* car is capable of mid 13's when well launched (*extremely* difficult to do).

What? I *know* it has a Skyline engine, I had a poster of the car on my wall for over a year. If you re-read what I put you'll note that I was saying they chose the RB26 to put into the car for the reasons I listed.

As for the 3S, that's a fairly common mod for race Supras, as it allows the engine to be mounted so far back the effectively becomes mid-engined, it'll make all the power that's allowed for the class it's in - so why have a heavier engine, and it'll rev a lot more easily than the 2JZ.

The only things I dispute are the bull**** power figures.
