Scooby Vs S2000
#1
Just found out that the s2000 in the car park belongs to a consultant from the same company as me. He want to try it on, I haven't obliged (yet).
Sorry if this one's been done, but what'll be the outcome? (and no, its not going to be all twisties and in the wet) - mostly straight line and through gears.
Cheers!
PS - I have a MY99, ITG and SS backbox

The search facility is now online - give it a go and you should see a whole bunch of S2000 ratings.
I drove one last weekend incidentally, and it was a lot quicker than I had imagined, although you had to thrash the pants off it ie 9000rpm. Still no kidney punch like the P1 though.

Your car is what I'd call midly modified. I'd say from 0-100mph there will be very little in it (perhaps nose length to him) but if you keep going after that he'll start to pull away. That said, he'll need to always keep the engine on the boil so you can capatalise on his shift or gear selection mistakes

Well the S2000 has 240bhp out of the box, in gear power the scoob will kick *** through the gears it may be the honda that comes out on top
The only advantage that your going to have is 0-60 times and even that will be close up to 100 it may be even closer but i tend to find that without decent breathing mods, uk cars tend to be a bit strangled after this, with a full decat system you may have a very slight advantage over him, just make sure your running a nice fresh tank of Optimax to be on the safe side

Well, according to my info, it's close...
Subaru Impreza UK Turbo:
Year - 1998
Power - 208bhp
0-30 - 1.8secs
0-60 - 5.5secs
0-100 - 15.8secs
1/4 Mile - 14.2secs @ 87mph
Honda S2000:
Year - 1999
Power - 237bhp
0-30 - 2.2secs
0-60 - 5.6secs
0-100 - 14.3secs
1/4 Mile - 14.3secs @ 100mph
... but S2000 has the edge in standard form!
You'll have to get him with your mid-range grunt.

Nearly there skid. Trying to finalise a deal with someone but he's having cold feet about selling despite a good offer. I can understand it can't be easy to let go of a scooby! Been working on sorting the finance tonight. When I get one I'll post pictures, details, streamers, flashing lights, etc in the main forum

OK, looks like there's not much point given that if he wins I probably won't hear the end of it - funnily enough he thinks the Impreza is much faster, so he'll be in for a pleasant surprise! I suppose the only consolation I'd have is that I paid half of what he did and still be in there!
On another note, does de-catting make so much a difference to significant increase the 100+ speeds?

Indeed Andy, 'twas a laugh doin that. I think Desy is a pretty good point of reference for which is fastest/best etc.
He's gone from MY'01 Scoob, to S2000, now to Boxster S. I'll try to get him to post his opinions (lucky b@stard....).

Hate to admit this but I've had a bit of a dust up with an S2000
I have an RB5 WRSPORT 250 bhp 241 lbs torgue
A1 he was coming round the round about when he spotted me and beconed me to follow so I did.
I had the edge 0 - 80 but only by a nose and this is how it stayed up to the next round about where I left him
So in a straight line I'd say there's nothing in it but the twisties may be a different story
