Default Ted new car decisions

Ok so been away a while and its that time again
Wifes current is a fully loaded JCW Clubman Mini, for her its decided and due to Minis Interest rate being poor I'm moving to BMW, yeah I know same company, so why PCP rates are not the same no idea.
SO hers
M135i Storm Bay grey M sports Plus pack with dark wheels

Mine well....
I have considered electric but other than Tesla nothing really shouts at me, but build quality on the Tesla isn't great VS Cost Boss has 1 and its already falling apart.
SO ive narrowed it down to
New M3
X3M

Reason being ive always wanted an M3 but I can't stand RWD, after the 440i I hated it, never felt in control or safe, so I hung in there for 4wd BMWs

Im warming to X3M as my current X3 3.0D has been great in all areas size, moving rubbish about no complaints, the M3 would be my pref but I don't think I can live with a saloon anymore
The other area ive been delving into is remaps as you do... it looks like the new M engine is very tuneable.

Simple remap shoots it up to 6xx and a new downpipe and diff CAT 7xx. Its on Bimmerpost if anybody's interested, 6xx remap pops the 0-60 to sub 3 seconds, not bad for a 2 ton car

View guys...

I did consider a Porsche but I do think for me anything I like is a tad too much 80s 90s...

By the way for anyone looking at new M3
£9999 down
699 deposit
699 a month

Yeah Tidgy, I know
At present there's near on 16k off X3M M3 is ok but as its so new the discount support from BMW is poor unless you have loads to put down, and I never put loads down on PCP because I swap a lot....I just work my magic with the Sales guys and get it as low as possible, then once Low I speak to Business manager for that extra push on cost..

All the new Ms are Xdrive, the Ms enable you to play with a bit more than a normal Drive throw ratio front and back, but I think MAX back takes is 50%

The new M3 doesn't have X drive until later this year. First ones to come out are RWD only and in competition variant. I know as I've one coming to replace my M2 competition

Not sure why the delay for X-Drive. I just wanted one of the first & i like to live on the edge. I'm sure 510bhp at the back end will keep me awake

Correct and as it’s an Mcar they will either offer you a loan or you can re PCP it normal cars mainly just get a loan offer

just bare in mind like Rob said above the new is RWD till later this year then it gets 4WD

Ok chaps photos incoming later today
collected them yesterday wife’s looked better than I expected in fact spot on, I took her round the block as she hasn’t had auto before but she was fine

once I’d done with hers it was into the X3M, the dealer due to COVID couldn’t come close but told me to drive it out of showroom Reveal area, then came the issue how the hell do I select drive, so for all M owners I’m unsure of old one were like this but gone are the days of up for reverse down for drive

you flick it left and if you want manual left again, so I drove out and then had to reverse, I had to shout guy where’s reverse, again that’s right then up weird shizzle

anyway checked over the car all good one thing I noticed it didn’t have Mich PS 4s on but continental I did a google and it seems BMW ship with mainly Contis now and sometimes mich so Rob check what yours comes with, mine has 255s front 265s rear

ride wise not much diff than my X3 3.0d msport yeah a bit more road noise but not as bad as Joe on you tubes makes out, Idrive 7 is mega much better than 6 like now I can use iPhone maps alongside BMW only downside to pro nav in my book is BMW took out the
music library yeah I know only 20gig but was a nice thing, now I have 2 usb 1 normal in ashtray area and 1 USBc in armrest also 2 more C in rear

only had 12 miles on so took it easy on way home popped some esso super in and then I hit the bypass, I couldn’t resist ( by the way no limitation on ecu dealer said he said long as she’s warm go for it ) take that as you will. It revved so high i the though it was gonna blow up, I actually backed off then I got ***** and gunned it yep she’s quick very quick last 3k is nuts

low down it’s ok too in right mode just need to get the M1 etc setup for your pref settings

wife’s on the other hand I went out on hers and that’s more usable like a bullet for what it is all there all the time.

digital dash in both is nice to have too map in middle is nice

HUDs nice don’t really use dash much when
you have this and you can flick it about to m mode and standard

anyway off for a bezz about now pictures later

Rob you got it yet, sorry I forgot to pop up photos I’ll plaster some up at some point

I’m 400 miles in sick of driving local but need to try get first service in before I drive to Scotland in August

no moans this far suspension is loosening up which is nice MPG on motorway the one time I tested was about 27 to 29 so not too diff than my old scoob

speed wise nuts gears are long and as I use auto more as I’m lazy by the time I’m flying I kinda back off before A change it’s that quick

did look at remaps for future but any plugins require car on a lift as connector 4 is under engine so sacking that idea off

reviews for m4 look good and I like the look it’s grown on me
did you get carbon seats Rob ?

Yes I collected my new M3 competition last Saturday at 8am bright and early. Absolutely love it. still running in at the moment but its got some serious potential under the bonnet thats for sure. I already spent enough so I didn't get the carbon seats as the budget wouldn't quite stretch that far but I've got everything else. Did note mine came on Pirreli P-zero's
