It is interesting looking at newer engines and their potential. A lot are limited by high compression, small blowers and high pressure fuel pumps. The 335i I am looking at should at 3/4 of the weight of the big Audis be an acceleration rival with 3/4 of the capacity, but isn't for those reasons and also of course traction.
I suppose I thought the 3.0 blown stuff gets a bit hyped but doesn't seem to deliver.

No, they've put a turbo on it this time, however same engine on the s4 though.
Stupidly they have got rid of the dual clutch (stronic/dsg) and only do it in a 8spd triptronic
I bought mine because of dsg lazy driving. However I don't think triptronic is that bad either.

Yeah they are very smooth tbh, 2 clutches having the next gear ready all time, so smooth too you cant tell it's changed half the time. They only reqiure a box service every 80k I believe so thats great.
Only thing that bugs me is it has slightly bad habits like not actually full control when using msnual mode. You can get a box map though to have proper control.
I never use manual tbh, only use sport but even that dont make it any different apart from holding the gears for longer.
Driving on a b road with on/off throttle it can be a bit silly by going up/down gears when not needed.
Them little habbits you just get used to, just coming from a manual its not got the same feeling.
But i wouldnt go back toa manual now for a daily car, the modern autos are great tbh.
