And the car?

I was close to buying a coupe version but then saw this - the interior put me off when I saw the pics, but I changed my mind when I saw it.
Roadster is a little more forgiving on the road than the coupe, but as I'm advancing in years I reckon this will serve me better.
(And with the roof off its easier for me to get in and out )

Comes with a hard and soft top, has every option ticked bar the two-piece brakes (not needed anyway), and nearly 12 months old with just 1200 miles on it.

The roadster doesn't come with the rear spoiler or front splitter of the coupe, which I think gives it a more aggressive stance, but I can live with that...

Zip I haven't got a clue about them, but I did nearly buy one of the Lotus directors personal car a few years back with a one off spec (Elise) but came to my senses and bought this house in Croatia and a V3 Type R instead

Good to see someone else still has faith in RWD too.

Is this the 350ish bhp V6 one? Rather a nippy machine.

Two low 4 seconds to 60 cars isn't bad going

This one is consistently timed below 4 secs, and the coupe I went in with an experienced driver I can well believe it.
No LSD either, and traction is pretty damn good. (It's also on normal Corsa tyres and not the cut slicks of the old car, which helps)

The torque is on another level compared to my old one - as it should be - but you can drive this so effortlessly if you want, or ***** out in the upper rev range.
The old one was ***** out ALL the time.

Forced induction?
It does sound a lot more civilised than the old one.

If you saw me trying to get into an Elise, you'll appreciate why I'll never own an Exige......... unless I could climb into it, whilst it was parked in the middle of a double garage!

You've seen JC trying to get into one haven't you? Well it wouldn't be that much prettier seeing me doing the same (because of height, not because I have a big beer gut like him!).

I'm 6' 3", but more leg length than body.
I can just about wear a helmet in it.

Getting in and out isn't exactly elegant....

Being a relatively short ar5ed individual (5'8") can have it's advantages, especially with compact cars. I believe Chris Harris is a the same height.

Yeah, I'm not really the right size for these little things - it's a bit like driving a shoe.

But if the car's good enough I'll get in it somehow!
Tbh, my Boxster was a bit too snug and the Exige, once I'm in, has slightly more room due to the tiny steering wheel and lack of lower dash.

Told myself that this'll be my last unconventional car...

I'll have to be sensible one day.

Nice motor.
I doubt you'll ever have a convential car. Too boring and run of the mill. You like your quirky, characterful cars with a bit of pizzazz.

My uncle sold his Boxster because he was simply too fat for it!

I'd struggle to choose between the M3 and the Exige (I can't understand why it's not called an Elise!) for fun back road hoons.

I've just been out in the M3 - by eck' it gives a good thump in the back in Sport+ using the paddles!
How quick it gets to scary/silly/illegal speeds is just....scary.

The Exige (or 'Elige' if you like ) will give the same oomph but it'll be nice to use a normal stick for changing gears.
They're going to be similar cars speed wise, but also very different I feel....

Maz, your quite correct but there comes a time in ones life when you have to think of others.

Fortunately that time hasn't come *just* yet

Yes Sport+ on ours certainly turns the wick up to full attack mode (to a lesser extent though); I only use it when it's dry and I'm the only one in the car.

Try driving a 500bhp RS500 in the wet at 2bar of boost. I did....... quickly decided to sell it before I killed myself.
