Either that or some tuner will make a GTI-R version.

i work at nissan and there will be a pulsar nismo and nismo R but there only going to be 200 and 230ish bhp

the problem is there is the masses want a mildly tuned car, something that is fun to drive and yet gives ok mpg. the old pulsar was awesome but its just not a car of today.

me likes, used to have one myself.

220hp is fine as long as the engine is strong. i think the old ones were 230 standard.

Looks like a Scooby hatchback.

About time Nissan start bringing in normal cars again rather than all that SUV/cross-over rubbish (ignoring the GTR and Micra).

The problem will be the bits made by Renault...I'm guessing this car is related to the Megane....much like the Micra is to the Clio.

I had a Pulsar GTi-R. Absolutely loved it. Was just over 300bhp, but in that car it was one of the fastest things I've ever owned. My favourite car to date I'd say!

Really, so it won't have a Renault derived engine like most Nissans currently have.

Does the GTR have a Renault engine?

Ive been told some of the diesel engines in other models are definately Renault.

I had a Nissan pulsar GTiR at 330BHP and my god was it rapid! So quick off the line and I used to love the way it would squat it's **** down when launching hard!

Shame I couldn't afford a decent gearbox to take it further.

New one sounds like it will be a bit soft like the RX8 compared to the rX7.....shame!

I think it looks a lot like my mates clio 197, he has a roof spoiler just like that.

It also resembles a slammed nizmo duke same as Lordys.

Aha! Well the GTR engine is derived from the VQ V6 engine, which whilst it is a Nissan lump is used in few Renaults (rare though).

Much like the Honda 3.0 NSX engine was unit derived from the old Rover 827/Honda Accord lump, just with different heads. Later 3.2 block was a bit more fancy though.

But yeah, you'll find Renault (mostly diesels) in various Nissans and vice-versa. Its mind boggling what lumps I find under the bonnet of various cars...I recently lifted the bonnet on a Mitsubushi, to find a very familiar VW diesel engine hiding under the plastic cover, I lift the bonnet on another Mitsi to find a Mercesdes lump. I find a Peugeot lump in a Mazda (when Mazda make their own diesels ), and I find a Volvo lump in a Ford, a Peugeot lump in a Volvo, a Mazda lump in another Ford and a Fiat lump in another Ford. As well as a Fiat lump in one Vauxhall a Isuzu lump in another, then find the same lump in a Honda. Madness!
