Cheers Chris - another well organised day out

There seemed to be lot of traffic on the first half but the second half was much better. Didn't get chance to make it to the pub - went back down the A65 from Kirkby Lonsdale as we needed to be back.

Shame about the puncture on the EVO7 - just spoke to Russ (Co Driver) and he says they got back ok on the space saver. Super Lancer let me know if you can make the pre TT training weekend in April

Cheers,

Ian.

Cheers Steve & Co......

T'was my sort of " swansong " today as I am going to pull back a fair bit now and spend some much needed time with my family....this last year has been a busy one and I think has taken it's toll somewhat...the P1 is going back to absolute standard (see the for sale board ) and may well be sold in the next couple of months I have enjoyed this car more than any other I've had before and normally change after 3 - 6 months I've had it nearly 12 months and have really gotten to know it thoroughly....I'm now at the boredom stage so need to move on....to what I don't know (I've a nice T5R Estate in Olive green sat on my drive )....

Hope you all had a good one....glad the silver scoob's off wasn't a bad one...they're not infalable are they

Some brill machinery yet again...Matt's Type R is amazing...kept up with us all the way...very impressed...mind you, he can drive a bit too

22B...stunning motor...driven as it should be for a change too
The EVO 7 Extreme of Julian's had to be the daddy though....an absolute flier no doubt...never had someone keep so close to my rear (apart from the missus ) Sad to have had the puncture...hope it's OK Julian..

Those skateboards...oops...sorry...Pug 205's...still brill motors...well done for mixing it lads

The Midlands posse...thanks for taking the time to venture up....many miles travelled for you all....much appreciated...we'll call you * The So Solid Crew *

Cheers

Chris

Guys
Must say, that was the best day I have had on 4 wheels. Mellow / Steve /Ian E / RichiW & Gang - Many thanks. The organization was superb, the roads are some of the best I have driven and the company was brill. Mellow you drove the pants of your Scoob mate and the combo of you and the car impressed me for the second time in almost as many months. If it's for sale anyone looking for (probably) the best handling / best sorted scooby in the UK today should buy yours - period.
Mellow, if you are serious about a change of car and have a you - know- what on your short list, I would be happy for you to take "Old Torronado" for a run (with the space saver on, of course!)
You would not even begin to beleive how $ucked off I was when I realized the RSF was flat!
Steve I hope your missus got some good shots of me and MY going sideways. hammer down and the flames out of my car - People would have paid good money for the view you had for that 50 miles!!
When's the next one!

Top day everyone. What a nice crowd you all are, respect to nickr in the true pocket rocket.
The phase "when you fall off - jump back on" must have been invented by MaxRebo(SilverScoob)
Mellow, i forgot to ask, have you been stopped yet for that less than cosha 0 on your plate, is it on all the time or just the outings? : - D
unlucky Julian, would have liked seeing the flames!
Any one know what happend to the guy who started in my group with the Blue MY01, turned of early doors.

Your Daughter - I love it!!!
Make sure you make me a copy - Ponte is not too far from Sheffield mate and I would love to see that film!
Nice driving by the way...
Cat - Yes, I was gutted we were really rocking and rolling and from all accounts SS2 was by far the one to be on.
Ah well, you'll just have to invite me back on the next one!!
I'm going to post on the MLR about today - This is definitely something you folks on here do FAR better than us.
Maybe we should do a joint "gig" in the spring/summer??

Nice one Chris!

Had a fabulous time, especially on the second section, defently learn more about the car today than i have in 3 months of ownership!

Best memory of the day have to be seeing SuperLancers car..what can i say? WOW!..nice one Julian! ( i`ll wait to see the flames next time out )

Very close second has to be the 22b going major sideways behind me as he crested a hill with a not so good camber on it.... mine went abit so i was looking back for him, and i wasnt dissappointed..talk about laugh!...hehhe

Biggest dissapointment was seeing the fuel light come on pulling out of the pub to go home...only 113 miles and £30 worth of Optimax and Octane Boost gone! *gulp* .... Thanks for waiting for me Steve and the other Scoob(sorry, missed your name?) until we reached the next petrol station.

I`ll defently be on the next one, by then i`ll have the induction and exhaust side of things sorted and hopefully we`ll have two Evo`s kicking out flames!

Rich.

Hi Cat
Not that I'm aware of. A couple of lads close by have Evos but we tend not to meet up that often. I'll let you know if that changes.
Ian E - I could well be on for that IOM "practice weekend" after today - Send me the dates and I'll see if I can make it.
Once again guys thanks for a brilliant day.

I'll just echo everyone else's comments and say cheers for a great day out, Chris

Ten percent of the total mileage on my car was done today, and it's given me a real good idea of what order I want to tweak things. However, first thing's going to have to be getting the suspension checked out as it didn't feel right, and by accounts from others, didn't look right either

No mind, though, roll on the next run ... and I'll promise to get up more than 15 minutes beforehand ... and bring some brakes with me

Hi guys, think I saw you out on Sunday. All parked up just after Kendal, were you waiting for the Evo to change the tyre, I would have left him, all that horsepower and nowhere to go eh ?

Settle an argument between my son and me please, was the 22B in the lead, and was it the Scooby I saw at Newby Bridge, before you guys. You lot had a P1, Civic ?, God ugly shape blue WRX, and said beached Evo, followed by very old green Turbo lagging a long way behind.

What's it like having to travel 100 miles to reach some real driving roads every weekend

Cheers Chris

Great roads, great company & some great cars

It was good to see the 205 boys & Mathew in his 172. It makes a change to see some 'proper cars'

I must mention Matt in the white 205... We were thrashing along the side of Coniston Water when Matt slammed his brakes on, pulled over, the passenger door opened & his co-driver threw up Quality

Superlancer - that is one mean car, I would have liked to see it in action!

Cheers to Laura for her excellent co-driving. We didn't get lost once, she didn't burp. fart or eat any crisps. Matt - take note

Does anyone else think we should start calling Matt (wrx) 'Little Mr WRX" because no one believes he's got a Subaru either

Thanks again,

Jon

Was good. Comparable driving standards and speeds to the Evo meets, only downside was the amount of Traffic on the 1st half of the run.

Had a guy infront of me in a silver-scoob! (MaxRebo ?!?) have the back end step out, he slide backwards into a ditch, and stopped about 1 foot from the bottom/hedge. God knows what happened as he was'nt going too fast (I was keepin up with him), was like he hit a pothole or rock. He did well to recover it as much as he did, as one of the back wheels was in the air at one point !

I think my car makes a very good Scooby Chaser/ pace car, not as quick as the fastest guys, but quick enough to not be an obstruction, interestingly having almost identical acceleration to a standard Scooby (Catalunya74 - only pulled about 4 car lengths on me on the max speed car run).
, and the LSD working a treat by being able to power round the corners in the wet, something that jon172 said he was getting wheel spin with, I did'nt suffer any.

1st time I have driven my car on a run since I fitted my new suspension and LSD, and in the WET as well, I really think that half of a good 4wd setup must be in the LSD setup that they have, as my car was sure better in the wet than before ! Dead impressed with the stability/grip in the wet, cant wait for a dry run !!!

Dunno if the pace notes were good or not as I had no passenger to read them.
Scenery was great, road were fun, annd luckily not slimey with winter crud (rain must have washed alot away).
Route was fun.

Oh and I was tryin damn hard to keep up with you guys, 9.5 to 10/10s all the way on that 2nd section

Thx Mellow, Catalunya74, MaxRebo (silver-scoobeh) and the rest.

Hope I can come along to another if I get the chance.

Nick.

Great fun lads all round, I think I may tag on again sometime, but I will need some 4 pot's though and new suspention it's like a yo yo inside my cab, Skip Brown Phase 1 suspention hear I come !

Oh then just a LSD so I can keep you boys in tow !!!

Cheers

Glad you had fun Matt

Fortunately I only witnessed one 'chucking'. I hope he didn't get too much in your car :P

My brakes are a bit worse for wear too. New pads before Donington next Wednesday me thinks.

Hope to see you soon.

Thanks Mellow really enjoyed my first time (talk about a baptism of fire!) cant wait for the next one.
Special thanks to all those who got me out of the ditch (car seems to have survived intact just pulls slightly to the left) Still not sure how i didnt end up on the roof coz once id reached 45 degrees i was pretty much convinced i was gone but, hey i suppose it will be something to tell the grandkids!
Very impressed with Nick.R in the Pug 205 who kept up well despite the sheep!
And of course a big thanks to Catalunya74 who put me right when my navigator lost the plot! (Only joking she cant help being blonde)
It was one of the best days i can say ive spent in a car not counting the first time i got layed in a car of course!

Mellow thanks for your comments, i had great fun tailgating your P1 on Stage 2 , and trying to keep with you. Lots of smiles.
Don't sell up.

Once the rain came down i felt more confident, and pushed a bit harder, and boy does the old CTR love wet roads, no understeer what so ever, little touches of oversteer easily controlled. I managed to get front two wheels off the ground too

Apologies for not completing the run, after stopping for petrol (120 miles from £25 of Super), and having a pee, i left with Jon (172), 22B, and the Evo (DJack?), keeping up nicely had to hit the pedal quite firmly for some reason, bloomin 172's , and i heard a sort of metal against metal sound. Ok time to drop back and pull in. A distinct lack of brake pad, left me with no brakes. Teach me a lesson three Donnington days 2000 miles and 1 Lakes run and that is a set of 1177's gone.

Julian glad you got back OK, next time i will attach some Marshmellows on sticks to my front bumper so they can get toasted, sweetest car of the day IMHO, with the 22B running a close second.

Picture of the day was coming out of the Hotel and turning right up the hill, 22B, Evo 6, P1, with me and tow with 172 behind, the noise (yes i heard it over my screaming VTEC) the speed.

Can't wait for the next one.

Sorry i didnt really meet many of you, i arrived late, and left early.

Quick Reply: Lakes Run... great, thanks Mellow!
