Default SMACS at Oulton Park

Anybody see this man spin at Oulton today??

We did!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, nice to meet Paulthejambo and Beefy and his missus, what a great day. There was one major "off" but thankfully it was none of us CADS or SMACS, and the driver and passenger of said car were fine also.

See you on the 17th

Did you have a good day Andy?

Heard all about Paul's fun - sounds like he had a great time

Jen it was fantastic. And I think I can speak for all of us too. It was really well put together and well organised.

For someone who hasn't done a track day and is wondering whether to do one or not, then do it. It's a brilliant experience.

Just can't wait for the next time now, sometime next year hopefully.

I'll second that very well organised, my first time but not my last! Apart from one scary moment early in the day it was great. Front brakes pads are none existant. According to Paul I was sending out flames and I don't have a flamer kit.

Hmmm. I wondered why you were taking a picture.

Ok, ok, yes I had one spin. It was the instructor's fault.

Actually that's a lie . For some reason (unknown to me) i decided to put a second input into the steering just after the turn-in point at Old Hall corner.

That unsettled the back end and because it was still p155 wet through, before I knew it I was going backwards at 60mph and on to nearly complete a full 360! Never actually went off the track though!

Lesson definitely learnt.

Bloody annoyed though. My dad was filming from the pit wall. He stopped recording just as you see the a*se end come round on me.

LOL. I was under the Warwick Bridge and you were braking/downshifting into Lodge. It wasn't exactly a 6ft bumper melting blaze, but there was deffo a small flame of sorts.

Nice to meet everyone on Friday, and as said above a really good introduction to track day fun!

Looking forward to doing another one too next year, and also to catching up with some of the CADS at a meet perhaps in the new year.

Going hunting for that video clip now!
