SMACS - THURSDAY EVENING DRIVE OUT
After nearly a year of Subaru ownership and 6 months of SMACS membership I think it's finally time for me to actually attempt to organise an event.
I propose a short loop of about 60-70 miles on the evening of Thursday 21st of September.
Starting and finishing at The Unicorn, the route takes in a few of my favourite roads in Cheshire (God's preferred County) and I hope that anyone who can be arsed to turn up will enjoy a "leisurely" drive along them too.
In theory, I'd like to meet at The Unicorn at 7pm, leaving at 7.10pm sharp to make our way to this car park a few miles away:
Now if things go to plan and the weather/light remaining is kind to us, I think this would be a good place to have some sort of group photo, as the views/backdrop are impressive (shame about my camera skills! ):
(These images were taken tonight at about the same time as we'd be there)
I appreciate that 7pm is an early start for many of you, but it has to be early to catch what little evening light summer has left to offer.
I also realise that many of us are quite skint, but it's only a short loop (I used a quarter of a tank tonight).
So come on guys and girls, please put your names down for my first attempt at organising a run out.
Thanks and regards,
Paul.

Oh, and for those who do know the road up to it, I used to ride it on my bike before I passed my driving test! Last night I took one look at it and thought "Sod that!!"

Yeah, I'm sure you have the right one. Might be an idea for those nearer to Buxton to meet us there if it saves time. There's no point coming all the way to The Unicorn just to go all the way back.
