Should I, Should I........?
I need some help here guys.....
I am seriously considering getting rid of the pink princess for a P1.
I am completely torn
I love my car because its me, It represents me in every way. But......
1. Shes losing money every day
2. Shes getting old
2. Shes done over 100'000 k
a P1 would hold its value, is a limited edition and is super sexy in a different way to mine.
What do i do????????

DO IT! as long as the P1 has already blown its engine, or at least had a uprated oil pump and remap, seriously!
No brainer really jak, what would you rather be seen in, a P1, or your pink princess? I'd rather see you in a P1 any day of the week
Do it, no regrets, no looking back, go on
chris.

As above, P1 if you can......
But its up to you. To some people, modding cars is all about individuality. And your current car is definatley unique. But maybe its time to move on and start a new project ! !
Thats your "ask the audience" life line gone........
Now its phone a friend or 50/50

Jak, get yourself over to the www.p1woc.co.uk you'll find all you need to know about the P1's over there, and probably find some of the history of the car your looking out.
AFAIK, the P1 was based on an sti v6, which was brought in direct to prodrive, who fitted all the extra bits, wing, wheels, badges. They then loaded a map suitable for 95 ron petrol. Now from all my scooby reading over the years, and please anyone, correct me if I'm wrong, 2 things go on the P1.
1/ The engine due to a standard oil pump
2/ The engine due to a crap map from prodrive
Usually this seems to be around the 40-50k mark, how many miles has the one your looking at done? Any mods? How many owners?
A good 1 owner low mileage P1 will still set you back close to 20k these days, as they are getting very rare, and are still a gorgeous car. But, there are some right dogs out there, so be careful, this is a different beast to repair if it starts to go wrong. I always joke about going to Prosport, anytime, and seeing a P1 on the ramps for one reason or another, usually with the engine out, and it's true There was one there on saturday, at the front
So, before you buy, usual checklist applies, and then some.
HISTORY
PREVIOUS OWNERS
LOG BOOK
DOCUMENTED SERVICE RECORD
EXTENDED SUBARU WARRENTY? still possible on a P1, and worth it's weight in gold if its a high miler.
and then of course all the other usual checks when buying a 2nd hand car, hpi ect.
Good luck, your young enough to let your heart rule your head, just make sure its a good one
Bagsie first drive in it if you come to the meet in march with it
chris.
