South Manchester and Cheshire Scoobys, please read.
We are relaunching ourselves in the new year, as a kind of resolution, to bring in more members and increase our turnout for 2006. The club as a whole has a membership that is very off and on, due to family/work commitments, and I want to see in 2006 a return to the days of meets with 20 or more cars in the carpark. I'll be announcing a new venue in january, with new times for the main monthly meet. There is already a fairly busy calendar of events planned ahead for the new year (welsh run, nbo, bbo, Richard Burns memorial run and plenty of other runs inbetween) so we've got a busy year ahead.
I've asked the webmaster if we can have a signature by our name the same as the wyioc and the essex crew, and he wants a rough idea of numbers before doing it. So, if you want to be part of the SMACS, and join up with like minded enthusiast from all over this area, please post your interest here. The others pay £5 for the sig, and I'm in talks with a local garage for a discount to club members which would easily offset that cost
So come on people, put your money on the table, and lets make 2006 and beyond the year of the smacs!

Hopefully ill be able to come out more in the new year, and with a new car if all goes to plan. Although might struggle to keep up as it'll be 2WD and 40bhp down on the Audi

Now the marriage laws have been passed, I may turn up and eye up the tallent.
I remember our Walton Arms meets to be similar to a night at the Blue Oyster Bar, all very nice.
All we were missing was the GIMP...but maybe ScoobyNutter555 will fill this gap for us.
PS. I followed your (CW) car through Warrington the other week, only to find it wasnt you driving it.

Mark dont worry, Im only running 200BHP and FWD, but its fun trying to keep the thing on the roads, especially in the winter!!

Hello Andy S. it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?
Been in Italy for most of December!!! Working
Does that mean you want some ATTENDED track days organising!!
Cheers Andy

Back on topic:
I was approached by a bloke from CADS (Cheshire and District Scoobies). They post over on the SIDC site. Maybe we could go for a combined meet? We could poach some more members!

I'd like to get our club back up and running first, then turn up to one of thier meets in a huge convoy, nick all the members, and speed off into the sunset

I make that 16 members, which would be an awesome turnout if we could manage that on 1 set date every month
So, what date? first weekday or sat/sun of the month, or flexible, I think set day of the month is best, as that works for other clubs. Usually weekday, which is not always best for some due to work commitments (me included ) but can be done.
So, I propose the first thursday of the month, which means the first meet in january will coincide with the day I have my remap at powerstation , so I'll be back in time to take you all for passenger rides
I'll post a thread up for the date if you all agree thats ok,
chris.

You've obviously failed as a Club once so probably will do again!

My apologies if my comment about nicking your members was taken the wrong way, it was, as andy pointed out, only meant as a joke, and I think your response was a bit strong. Don't forget, we're all part of the same community at the end of the day, linked by our love of the marque. I would love to come over with our newly invigorated club members, and meet up with you guys, presuming your representing the CADS.
Thats one for the calendar this year for sure.
lordharding
that is also on the list of things to do this year, and hopefully we can at least match the displays produced by the lads and wyioc. See you soon.
Voting looks like thursdays at the mo', which I'm happy with
chris.

once you are and running I expect a full decent display at the NBO 4 this year
