It was £7.50 on the gate!!!!! £15 for 2 of us and we didn't even run. I wanted to run but it's just too damn expensive.

What a shocking rip off, won't be going again.

Got some fair pics though...recognise this car Alan?

I also went to spectate and had to pay £7.50 to get in.

I noticed that the attendance at the event was poor. This may be due to the cost of taking part.

Only good thing is that I can't afford to take the missus

funny.i only got charged a fiver on the gate.dont know what went wrong there.
did a 14.3@106 on 30brake of nitrous and 142 flat out.speedo was reading 155 so was into the speed limiter.
i spoke to trev about cost.he said it costs about £4500 to hire elvington for the day including toilets, insurance, timing lights etc.
he said that as long as he breaks even for the years events he will keep running them.

PPG heavy duty synchro kit, approx £2k for the parts plus build costs, similar to what Pavlo has in his car. Quicker than a 6 speed on the 1/4m

I understand about the insurance/toilet/hire costs but to be honest it puts folk off if it's so damn expensive.

Knock the prices down, advertise it a bit on here and get a good crowd. Turnout was pathetic today.

think york has gone up mate.tenner in and twenty to run i think.plus its only quarters,no top speed.i did 13 runs at elvington inluding 3 top speed runs between 11 oclock and 2.30 including a stop for coffee and sandwich.try doing that at york.

York raceway on 28th march was £10 entry, £20 race, potholes are deeper, and i think we managed 6 runs ALL day due to queues, the car ended up looking like it had just gone cross country too due to a bit of rain, so Elvington is by far the better value.

Trevor explained yesterday in the drivers briefing why costs had gone up, it was simply due to Insurance, it costs a lot more. They have had all sorts of problems in the closed season.

If you lot think york is good then think again.. surface is poo.. return road will not do my car any favours.

Elvington is worth the extra IMHO.

well said that man, 1/4m only day was cheaper, two event days cost more to run hence increase in cost to race. still £50 cheaper than an untimed trackday at elvington!

Personally think the pricing at Santa Pod is about right. £10 to get in and £15 for unlimited 1/4m runs.

part of the reason for that is that Pod dont run sanctioned rwyb days with insurance liability cover, as i understand it. a portion of the entry cost to run timed events at elvington is eaten up by insurance for the driver to take part in a sanctioned IOPD event.

How does that make a difference to the customers (other than cost)?

Bob
