Its probably a bit far for you but check out www.scoobysmacs.co.uk (South Manchester and Cheshire Scoobies). We meet regularly in the stockport area and have run outs every month.
There is a group in Warrington who meet regularly and post on this board so that might be a bit nearer, or perhaps some of the north wales lot can give you some details?

We meet at the Walton Arms Pub in Warrington which is 2 minutes (or 1 minute depending on traffic
) from the M56 junction at the Lord Daresbury Hotel (cant remember junction number)

There wont be one in the next week or two because of the Blackpool run . If you want to come to this, look at the relevant thread that JohnWRX posted up for meeting points. Pick one and go!
If you would like to meet up at Burtonwood Services on the M62 then give me or *Sonic* a PM and we'll sort you out from there mate
I would imagine a Warrington meet being held in October some time though, just keep your eyes peeled on here for more info
