Default SMACS meet wednesday 3 march

Welcome one and all to the monthly SMACS meet, held on the 1st wednesday of every month.
Usual format, meet at the H&H for 7pm, blast to somewhere nice for a coke, blast back, go home .
I've met some new people over the last month, so hope you can make it for the evening run.
I'm on nights this week though, so wherever we are at 9pm, I'll be shooting off for work at 9:30
See you wednesday guys and gals,
chris.

Aye. I'll be there. Just finished unpacking the essentials at my new abode! Got the DVD and hifi and TV set up but the rest of the place is still full of crap!

Anyhoo..........where should we go on Wednesday? I think we need to try some new roads out personally. Chris knows all the usual ones off by heart now and goes too fast!

Hey Chris......will you bring your printout from the rollers on Wednesday. I want to look at it. Just seen one side of it on 22B. Its quite interesting when compared to mine, when it was 311bhp. The curves are pretty much identical until the top 2000rpm where mine went steeper. That explains why my car was never actually any quicker in the real world. I put it down to a poor map. I wonder if it could have been improved on? Oh well.........doesn't matter now I suppose!!! I'd love to win the lottery and build a monster power engine! 5 numbers and the bonus would do!

There you go:

Funny you should mention about poor mapping. I was talking to Bob Rawle straight after having the rollers, and he talked me through what would happen if he remapped my car. He would basically have the torque curve rise up to a plataeu around the 2k mark, and then stay flat until around 6.5k, then drop to almost nothing. Same with the bhp too.
I have been looking at getting it remapped, and after talking to some very knowledgeable people on the subject, the mapper you suggested to me is not held in such high regard.
I think a trip down to see Mr. Rawle is in order when I can afford the £600+.
See you wednesday,
chris.

Well Chris, I would deffo go to Bob next time. Like you said, the previous guy may not have been the best route for me. Cheaper is not better all the time.

Anyhoo........do you mean when we went off down through Macc Forrest etc?

Thats quite a good route.

Up Long hill, over to the Cat and Fiddle for a Coke, down half of the Cat, turn off through Macc Forrest and over through Wincle down to Bosley Crossroads. Then its a sedate plod back down the main road..............I believe its the one you came off your Bro's bike on isn't it?

What do you think?

barnesy, sorry to hear about your work, not going to sell the scooby are you? It seems to be the thing to do at the mo', blitz already sold, beefy thinking of it, super maybe having to as well!
Mrs cw42 drove my car for the first time yesterday, to the trafford centre, and couldnt stop grinning when she got out. Maybe it was me on the motorway, when we were doing 80 saying put your foot down, we're only going slow! hehe.
I think she now wants one, but she needs driving lessons first I think!
Saw your car in prosport *****, like me, you'll be taking it easy on new brakes!
Mad, yes, thats the route, but can you miss out the stop for coke until after we've been out for a while? I've only got till 9pm, then have to head for work, so dont really want to stop for a coke early on, we can chat on the radios anyway, as super now has a set too.
How about whaley, macc old road, cat&fiddle (from macc side) a54 to congleton, monks heath, alderley edge and a stop at the nice pub in alderley edge.(dont remember the name, but me, andy and gav stopped there a while back)
Is that ok? not too far for me to go for work after that.
See you tomorrow.
chris.
ps, the new brake saga continues!

Thats been my 1st visit there, Pete oiled my clutch pedal and put the correct pressures in my tyres, and I didnt even ask him!!!
Thats excellent service and I`ll be taking my pride and joy to him from now on
My rear brakes where 99% worn out...Now my brake pedal feels superb.
I`ve been trying to bed them in, but yes I will be taking the braking easy tonight.

See you all later
