Cool

Right Chaps as Gridlock Mikey in the Main NBO thread suggested here is the initial stab at a thread and RV for any Preston area scoobs to meet up for the NBO convoy run. As the A59 seems to be a reasonable route how about meeting in the Swallow Hotel Car Park at Samlesbury. That way its the right side of Preston and convenient for any one comming down the M6 from Brig, leyland etc?

Note : This doesnt mean Im volenteering to be the convoy leader....

Watch out on the A59.
Now being targeted by mobile cameras between Clitheroe and Gisburn - My thanks to all the bikers going to Devils Bridge at Mach 2.
Usual spots are
1. On top of the hill (2 lane up, 1 lane down)by Sawley(Just after Clitheroe).
2. Just on the otherside of the same hill (as you speed up after assending hill) in the country foods entrance.
3. Stirk house entrance just before entering Gisburn.
Then its over to West Yorkshires finest for them to fleece you - Erm - I mean help reduce accidents / keep you safe.

All the above is from the horses mouth (Cheers uncle PC Gary)
Camera's set at 10 % + 1 MPH over limit.
You have been warned!

Also watch out for the new GATSO in the (new-ish) 40mph limit section of the A59 at Osbaldeston, as well as the old faithful GATSOs in (40mph) Copster Green!!!

I believe that the section between the Petre Arms roundabout (near Langho) and the Whalley roundabout is also a favourite revenue generating area

Right guys, we def. need a Preston-ish based convoy, so here's some thoughts....

cdco: without getting the map out (too late to be bothered tonight!) i think that's probably the route i'd take.

Would a hotel take kindly to a bunch of scoobs turning up on a sunday morning (any loud zorts folks?). We might have a better idea when we see what kind of response the thread generates.

hendy: perhaps you could ask your mate if he'd mind?

If not, we could meet on the Boddington Arms car park, which is just round the corner on the A59, opposite BAE's main gate. Have met there before on a weekend morning for a run.

Cheers guys.

Boddington Arms sounds a good idea,

Or an even better one is the new McD'd just out side of clitheroe, could also get some breakfast before we go from there

I'd be interested in meeting you guys near Beamsley Hill. Definitely one to watch out for. Three police Scoobs patrol here, one marked, plus unmarked silver & blue. Who knows could get them to join in??

Evo 1 also in tow if thats ok?

RLE, Ta for the warning on the police scoobs, can't see any reason for you not to join us, dont know what time we'd be getting there though, its probably best to sort moby numbers nearer the day.

Also Ive asked Karak to email me the lancaster scoobs route to see if we can join convoys some were.

Carl.

Just a thought... will the McJobbers be able to cope with a convoy of scoobs passing through? Or will they be so busy wetting themselves with excitement that service will slow down to KFC standards?

By posting on a thread, it "bounces" the thread back to the top of the forum. Statistically, people will only look properly at the first 5 thread titles if browsing and reply to the first three. Anything else is more likely to be ignored.
This is why the for sale section is so active, to post and leave it, consigns it to page 2 within minutes, people don't want to look at another page.
So in short, it turns a thread into the top of everyones agenda for a few minutes.

Mikey
