Hey

I've have been in discussion with a number of local (cumbria nrth & south)airfield owners and am getting positive feedback for use of thier land for car use. Obviously they want paid and the more people that go, the more money they make. It WILL save on the money & travel time we all have to do to distant venues!

Let me have your feedback to who would be GENUINELY interested and how much you'd pay for a local FULL day of use

Make it happen

GK

I'm interested too. I'm a lazy bugger at heart, so somewhere not too far away is always preferable

Sounds good Gaz. Where are you thinking of using? Most that I can think of are pretty rough except Kirkbride.

Thumbs up

A local venue would be superb, but as Mark says they're all a bit rough round here aren't they.
Kirkbride was used when i went Rallying and coming off the gravel onto the main straight (smooth tarmac) used to be great, but run in reverse was even better
Couldn't afford a re-spray at the mo tho'

Great idea mate , hope it comes off, i'm sure you will get alot of interest after it has been sorted and you've done all the hard work

Scoobs only or selected Car Clubs?

Also interested but I would only pay around the £50 mark. I would pay more if the following was added

1. Clear gravel free circuit
2. Facilities
3. Instruction

I may apear pedantic, but when you pay track day rates, that's what you get. I don't think 10 cars paying £50 would sound to bad to the farmer!

it is kirkbride thats been the most receptive. i'm going to try and inspect the grounds this weekend to scope how freindly the surface is. will also be trying to speak money too, i think £50 each is reasonable for a decent surface, i'll teach ya Steve if you wanna pay more

IMO any cars could come (restricted numbers at a time though)provided the drivers have their heads screwed on.

Will update with any more news as it comes.......

Yeah, i'd pay 50 quid if it was just a few cars with the owners permission. 100 quid if it was a proper day with cones, burger van, bogs etc.
As far as I know all the airfields up here are rough as owt, didn't think Kirkbride was any better (thought that was the reason rallies stopped being held there).
If its gonna be a goer then beware of noise issues (boring I know) but we can hear M-Sport when they practise on the airfield from my uncles farm (in Kirkbride village).

Hi

Sorry cant make Wednesday meeting (work at Warrington). Have wrote back to Kirkbride airfield manager, will let you know return result. Visited Walney island airport Craig, that would be ideal and plan to approach them with similar offer after getting Kirkbrides support (i hope!)

I'd be up for it, £50 sounds reasonable

A mate has just been on the phone, he's just bought a kit car and wants to take that on an airfield, could prolly round up a couple of others too
