A member has a flag pole which has been offered to us at a cost of £75-00.
I dont have many details about it but I believe it is made from stainless Steel.
It is machined made and stands 23 foot, it has an aluminium bottom that goes under a car.
Question is does anyone think we need one

From: In an East Yorkshire Pub somewhere....squires Milk Bar.
This was a flag pole that i had made for the dreaded NICC.it comes in three sections and does have a platform for a car to sit on it can hold two flags it cost me £70 pounds. i only wanted to try and get my money back as i donated the £159.99 BBQ and the £119.99 gazebo plus ten chaires and a table which was all used at the doncaster show.... all was new...
But it don't matter about the £70 pounds for the pole..... i don't need either... enjoy...
Just like to add that after the collapse of the NICC the remaining monies where paid to me. £90 pounds. if any old members think this was unfair please pm me..

Anything donated to the club is gratefully received
I suspect anything involving spending club funds would be better put to a poll or added to the agenda for the next meeting and discussed further, then maybe having a vote/poll to decide.

A true gent, hats off to you
It sounds like we now have two flag poles, the one I have made and the one Dave as donated, cheers Dave
. The one I have made will match the banner frame and the bunting poles we have. It is fully hight adjustable and breaks down into one meter lenghts to go in the boot of any car. At the moment it has three sections then the flag section on top, which can be altered to take two different sizes of flag, plus we can fix a solid board to it as well.
Yatesy has a 5 foot by 3 foot Subaru flag, as yet we have no club flag. You get what you pay for in flags, we priced up a double sided embriodered flag but the club funds will not run to it yet, as we need bunting as well. I made the flag pole to accept a piece of 1/4" board so we can get a couple of stickers and use them till we get a proper flag.

Aileen got the quote, but from memory about 130 quid. That was for a 1 1/2 meter flag. If you pay cheap you get cheap and cheap ones last two minutes in a strong wind and the eyelets pull out and generally fall to bits and just forget trying to clean them. No I don't run a flag making company

Sounds like we need to think about increasing the club funds if we decide we need a flag and all the bells and whistles.
Sponsored pub crawl anyone
I'm sure we'd all be experts and raise a fortune
