Just reading the BBC website and it seems that soon all those who don't pay the TV licence may get an easier ride as it'll soon be decriminalised.

I hope they get rid as well, totally pointless, If the BBC is that bothered then get advertising to cover the cost . The BBC advertises its own programs so what's the difference ?
The loss of the BBC Four, CBBC and CBeebies would not bother me in the slightest

I would be happier if they got rid of it, they spunk most of the money they get paying crappy people to do jobs and paying them loads of money....sounds a bit like local government lol.
If they went the advert route it would mean they would have to provide value for money otherwise the advertisers would leave and they would fold as a business.

I think it's an outdated concept and basically extortion / demanding money with menaces, giving people a criminal record and in some cases sending them to jail because they may or may not watch a particular television channel is ridiculous.
I don't agree with state funded media of any description it's nothing more than the government propaganda machine, smacks of the soviet union / banana republic.
Don't mind a bit of Radio 4 though.
