Unlike Idris Elba who is apparently the "king of speed"..

I have never seen such an inept buffoon in my life....

I have nver met him,but i hate him already......

BTW,Guy Martin is a god,with mutton chops!

I'm not so sure

I think even the nutter that is Guy Martin will struggle to find something more insane than riding a pushbike at over a ton. Mere inches behind a steel wall, strapped to the back of a racing truck. On a fecking beach

Of course he was never going to hit the truck, but that's not what the mind thinks.

Slowing him down through it stopping tho.

Riding a bike at over a ton on sand takes a pretty serious set of ***** TBH, fair play to him though.

Yeah he got mashed up pretty bad on that TT programme. He genuinely looks slightly unhinged. I like him.

If the truck suffered a mechanical resulting in sudden deceleration there was only one place Guy was going, into the back of it.
That aside it was a fascinating programme and I'm looking forward to the next one.

I have total respect for road racers, they have ***** of steel which is what's needed following a truck at over a hundred mph along a beach

Loved the Guy Martin thing, the Idris Elba one was ok but though he is obviously a bit of a petrolhead, he wasnt that convincing.

I think Guy Martin has become a kind of new Top Gear bod mixed with a bit of Fred Dibnah.

I remember one of Guy's early quotes from the TT: "Ian Lougher came past so fast he was sucking rabbits out of the hedges". That was a good few years back, but it was clear he was a real personaility even then.

Sadly, he's become this TT generation's Jason Griffiths, in that he's hugely talented but happens to be racing the likes of John McGuinness, Michael Dunlop and Ian Hutchinson who are just that bit faster. Jason had Steve Hislop, Joey, Foggy, Phil McCallen and DJ to contend with, and never quite made the top step at The Grandstand.

It would be wonderful for him to win a TT, but I've a feeling that may remain one of his few unfulfilled ambitions. Anyhow, he's become more famous than any of his competitors outside road racing, and I'm sure a long TV career will follow. A great chap.

Think you make an excellent point, this guy (no pun intended!) is very comfortable & relaxed in front of the camera, he is extremely user friendly were people are concerned & maybe there is a career change on the horizon for him.
