And again I point you to the inadequacies in your own definition. If having a work ethic requires carrying out work for works sake, not for money/shelter. Then anyone who doesn't carry out voluntary/unpaid/unrewarded work has no work ethic.

I'm not sure how that conclusion follows. It's not either/or, one can be paid but still value the work as an ethic (the work ethic), this is different than an contemptuous attitude that some cultures or classes have towards 'work'; one earns money because one must but the work can be shameful or taboo even (work is ethically bad).

16 bus loads of Romanians turned up in our town on the stroke of midnight. Now they are on the streets, begging, biting the heads off our swans and eating our babies

So despite the media's best efforts hanging around at the airports today there doesn't seem to be a flood or even a trickle of these nasty Romanians and Bulgarians. Looking forward to the Daily Mail's article about how they were wrong and their apology ... c**ts!

How would it look different than a normal day, there were no extra flights?

No idea, but then I'm not the one posting the aticle up or hanging around at the airport trying to find these 'freeloaders'. At the end of the day there will be no mass influx and the media will go back to Muslim bashing as per normal!

Just read this thread - hope I don't go back to work on Thursday to find a bulgarian has taken over my office, willing to work for a quarter of my capitation rate!

But there was a mass influx from the Polish, etc. Britain has changed radically the last few years. We are talking millions of immigrants here. You can say it's a good thing but the mass immigrant and change is a hard fact.

Immigration is a good thing, I would rattle every one of them!

But the reality is they have probably gone some place nice not the UK, we will end up with the fat munters.

Why are you addressing me with that comment? The media are the ones hanging around at the airports not me!

It won't be any different tomorrow or the day after or the day after... there will be no invasion! It's media hype and it's nothing more than playing to your emotions.

Soon as I mentioned coming back to UK,noooo its too cold and rains all time...couldn't really argue with that.

According to news just now, many are coming back after the Christmas holidays, that were already working here.

Well it's January the third and I must admit I have not yet seen a Bulgarian. But in all fairness, I have only been in Bulgaria for three days.
