This is great news - I can now pay them £40 per day and make at least £120 per day for myself from each one, without me having to lift a paintbrush!

Times that by the 4 men needed and I'm quids in

Happy days.

I think this may just be the impetus required for tdw to get his finger out and his feet on the first rung of the ladder

If you build a big enough shed, you can charge them £40 a night to sleep in it.

That would be plain wrong. £20 a night is reasonable.

Do you know what a work ethic actually is? It's work for its own sake not because you are hungry or otherwise made precarious.

Do you work for its own sake?

It pains me but I'll probably do that soon. I don't believe property is inherently a ladder though, it's not a market that can inflate forever. Do I think that by buying a terrace on skid-row now, that I'll be living in a mansion in 20 year just by price inflation? Not at all!

Well then by that questionable definition, very few people have a real work ethic as most people work to earn a wage.

You might as well say the prisoners in Auschwitz has a 'work ethic' because if they didn't work hard they would be liquidated.

You appear to be confused, the definition you gave was 'work for its own sake not because you are hungry or otherwise made precarious'. Now I would have said being liquidated if you don't work is pretty precarious.

It's only a more extreme form of what is essential to Capitalism. You don't eat and you don't have shelter without a wage, you would eventually die.

And as such my point still stands. By your definition no body has a work ethic as those who work do so to provide food/shelter and those who don't work have no work ethic by default.

Some people claim to enjoy work, make it a vocation.
