There was a guy on the radio talking about this. He has written 2 books about why they ended etc and it wasnt because they went broke.
Apparently there is hard evidece that BA was making a profit but France were not. They didnt want BA to go it alone so had to end it all.
Recently the concords in the museums are still flight worthy - the inspectors were shocked.

To be fair it wasn't entirely BA's fault they were grounded. It was pretty much forced upon them by Airbus' decision to discontinue maintenance support, that in turn was probably a political decision resulting from the grounding of the Air France aircraft

That video doesn't look like the last take off either (JFK?), not that it matters, I'd agree with the sentiment of the OP.

Aviation took a big step backwards when Concorde was grounded IMO
I would imagine a campaign to return it to the sky a la Vulcan would be quite popular.
