Bodrum in Turkey or Lanarca in Cyprus?
Late booking (flying Sunday), both nice hotels (apparently), both great deals. Not in to clubbing, but do like good live music, quality restaurants and comedy clubs. We enjoy scenic walks, we're culture vultures and enjoy historical sites and so forth. It's getting booked tonight so need to decide! We've toured Turkey, but haven't been to Cyprus. Thoughts?

If you two have already been to Turkey before, then why do Boredom () in there again?? Go to Cyprus and enjoy it. I don't know much about the place, but I'm sure you will find a lot to do there in terms of culture vulturing. Them lot are different from here, like.

Cyprus is far more friendly and family orientated but also does a cracking night out in the clubs if you would rather do that. I would prefer Ayia Napa though over Larnaca (wife and I have been over half a dozen times between us). Regardless though the weather is bound to be fantastic.

Cyprus is nice but expensive, My mum and sister , went for a week and all in it cost 6k, I have another friend who used to stay at Le Meridian every year right up untill his family holliday cost him 14k. The inlfux of Ruskies has dramatically increased ,the quality of eye candy, and prices in equal measure.

Paphos, I'd say. Larnaca is where the airport is. What else is there? It's surely quite a busy built-up area. Is Paphos not quieter? From memory, it was a nice place! Cyprus is (or was) in general, although I can't remember encountering Ruskies!

Paphos has won, Alan. Booked cattle class flights for £130 each a cab ride away and at a civilised hour. We'll hire a runaround for the week; just the hotel to find now!

Cyprus is nice, just a bit small, get yourself to aya napa if your looking to get a rental, there is a bloke there that rents some interesting cars, when i was there a few years ago i had a 4.0 wrangler jeep and went off into the mountains on some great dirt roads and came across the cyprus rally, met a load of locals and had a cracking time with them, and then we raced paris dakar style through the stages when the rally was over and they were suprised i could stay with the pajero evo that was being piloted by one of the local rally drivers, they obviously haven't seen the road i drive here in croatia every day
We took that back and got an MR2 off him for a couple more days and tore up some of the twisty country roads, then went carp fishing on a lake for a day which the Mrs loved, because she cought twice, and then rented a MX5 and spanked a few more country roads whilst out and about visiting all the sites of interest, great roads, some cracking scenery with plenty to see and do.
