Sherwood pines is where the Go Ape is, there's also miles of marked trails for mountain biking, and a new BMX type course, but i'm sure you can use a mountain bike on it too.
There's and adventure playground there as well, but i'd say it's better suited to younger kids, you can use the water park at bit at centre parks too, there is also a half decent go cart track opposite the entrance to centre parks called Amen Corner.
You can also go see the major oak in Edwinstowe and Robin Hood visitor centre in the same place.
There's other stuff too like horse riding, good place is blidworth bottoms, there's a riding school there and they'll take you out for a hack or you can just have a lesson in the ring and if you have zero experience the girls will walk you around the forest holding the reins.
You can have a round of golf or just go on the driving range at calverton golf course too, and a shopping trip into notts and go to wagamamas or nandos and the cinema too at the cornerhouse.
loads to see and do just depends how much time you have, wollaton hall and nottingham castle are good ones if the weather is bad.
Opps just seen the bit about the pregnant Mrs, so I guess she better bring a couple of good books.
Just add; bowling alley and lazer quest in notts and theres paintball up the road from the robinhood visitor centre.

There's also Rufford Park, Clumber Park, Creswell Craggs very close by. Depends what you want to do, if you want to keep the Mrs happy Meadowhall Shopping Centre isn't that far away.
If golf or fishings your thing loads of courses/waters near to you too

If you make it in to the City, there's a 24 hole, adventure golf course in the basement of The Cornerhouse. It's not a bad way to spend an hour and a bit (assuming all four of you play).
Amen Corner karting has an outdoor track. That's not to far away from Center Parcs and the surrounding area. I prefer the indoor karting at Langar myself, but that's further away.
If you want a decent dining experience, try Lakeside, which is not too far away. Or if you are in the city centre and want a top notch place to eat, then World Service is the place to go (it's near Nottingham Castle). For a world buffet experience, Peachy Keens would be my recommendation. Red Hot Buffet Shack is under-staffed, poorly managed and has terrible customer service.
Blidworth Bottoms is the place to go for some nocturnal *******. Just make sure you don't end up in the gay car park

You trying to bankrupt the guy, World Service is at least £50 a head, lakeside is cheaper but still a bit pricy for 4 people, you'll be better off with the carvery at the robin hood near Amen corner or the one before lakeside opposite the turn for police HQ, they do a breakfast buffet too, all you can eat.
