Would you have kept the money?
Ok, honest answers folks
Would you have kept the money or returned it?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-24170670
I know it would have been paid straight in to my bank account

I think an old saying comes into play here "what ye sow so shall ye reap. What a guy and he deseserves all the credit he gets. And no I wouldn't have kept the money.

There was only £1000 in cash from what i read in another paper. The rest travellers cheques.... So no, i would have returned it.
However, if it were all cash, i'd have kept it and so would most of you lot faced with a bag full of cash

That much cash is almost certainly illegal and therefore i'd take it. Providing nobody was around of course.

I think I would have kept it, not that I feel that good about being honest about it but faced with a bag of money £100, 1000, 1000, 100000, the answer would still be keep it.
I suppose I am going to hell, but I accepted that many a year ago and I don't think handing it in would make any difference to that outcome ;-)

As above if it had the details of who it belonged to then I'd hand it in, but £50k cash in a bag i'd go with the fate has handed it to me so it's obviously mine.
At the end of the day if someone has so much cash that they forget about £50k of it then that's their look out.
Finders keepers, losers weepers.

If you lose £50k you deserve to be without it. Not being funny but if I have more then £1000 in my house at any given time, I make sure its hidden and in a safe place, and not a chance would I walk round with that sort of money in a backpack. It would be in my pocket so I can feel it against my body!!!

How people can justify what is basically stealing by saying somebody deserves to lose the money because they are stupid or a tit is beyond me.
As is how you can assume the money is 'illegal'
The bottom line is the money does not belong to you, unless you may some effort to report it you are a thief.

Maybe you are happy to be a thief for £50k but I am not, nor would I be for £100k or a million.
And that's not because that sort of money is insignificant to me but one has to have principles in life and be able to look at ones self in the mirror and look ones children in the eye when teaching them a moral code.
It's quite simple, it's called being honest and having a moral code that can't be corrupted. I'm not sure what you find so difficult to understand about that

I'd have kept it and certainly would have spent it!
If I'd have been the one that lost it, I would hope that someone would hand it in.......I would also be realistic and realise that the chances of that happening are slim, and that I shouldn't have been so stupid to lose it in the first place....it's called being a realist.
Finders keepers. The drinks are on me!!

A bit of a double standard there Peedee, thats like leaving your car engine running to quickly pick up something in your house that you forgot and coming back to see it being driving away by some thief and his excuse being well the car was running and no one was there so I just drove off,if something is not yours it's not yours simple,I personally think Dingdongler hit the nail on the head about having morals, with my own children I teach them what is right and setting a good example myself has to be the right way to go.SJ.
