Default kids moto bike fuel leak

Hello,

looking for a bit of help, just bought my boy a 50cc kids moto bike.

Its great but its developed a leak, it looks like an overflow pipe coming off the bottom of the carb, im thinking its something to do with the floats inside the carb?
anyone able to help? take it i cant just blank it off?

thanks

Take the bottom off the carb and check the float and needle are not stuck.

ok thanks people.

one more question, how do you remove the throttle cable from the carb, ive undone the small nut at the top of the cable/carb but it doesnt come out, do i need to undo the bigger nut at the base?
Hody how did you identify what carb to get? i can see any numbers ect on the carb, even the bike?

cheers

our kids only use ours in our garden

although I have just this week attached a towing ball to it, so they can follow me on my cross country run with a trailer and collect firewood

not sure I would let them ride one on the road as they are pretty dangerous imo

I ran a road legal last year.....carol Nash was the cheapest for insurance think it was £200 a year f/c
Licence was normal car one , tax was best part of £100 for 6 month.....not like bike tax
All in all .......waste of ****ing time and money as I could never be arsed to go on it
Was funny doing a 30 mile run on it up to my mates in shorts and t shirt

Wouldn't waste your money on one

To undo your throttle cable from carb end
Unscrew the slide top , remove , compress the slide spring & unhook the cable from inside the slide / some carbs have a base plate with a screw , underside or inside of slide
More than common it will be the first option

Should take you no more than 2 mins
( I'm counting

the nut you have tried to undo is just to adjust the cable you need to unscrew the top of the carb its self then the slide will come out and the cable unclips from that IE: the bit that nut is attached too it should just unscrew from the rest of the carb if that makes sence to you.
once you have the carb off the bike there should be a number on it somewhere.

jazzy lol, ive got it off and cleaned the carb out, but put it back together has been a problem lol.

the cable came out with a plastic ring round it and a spring, it just lifted out without unclippin anything, ive put it back and mounted the carb but now the throttle has no resistance when i turn the twist handle? i presume i have not clipped the cable onto something inside the carb itself?

help please?

Hi jef
It sounds like you have not clipped the cable correct - so as you turn the throttle the cable is rising up but the slide is still in situ
You need to go back to step 1
Undo
Attach
Once you have done , turn the throttle with the slide still out the carb
If the spring compresses & returns at the turn of throttle
You have it working
Just re- trace your steps

Ps
If the slide is mounted wrong inside its chamber it won't ( slide) up / down
Should be a groove to align slide to carburetor

More than likely its the cable tho

sounds like the float level needs adjusting or the float is punctured. The float normally has a metal tank that sits on the float valve. You bend that up or down to adjust the float level. To measure the flat level, remove the carb and float bowel. turn it upside down and measure from the float bowel gasket to the top of the float with a vernier gauge. Make sure the measurement is the same on both sides of the float.
