too much spare time on my hands so I thought I might go to night school and see if I can't learn a few things.
There are no colleges etc. near me so never hear of any courss.
Are there any good websites out there that anyone can point me to?
Cheers,
Matt.

It depends on what you are looking to do. At the moment your local authority is probably responsible for Adult Education courses. These are the ones that generally do not lead to a qualification e.g. underwater basketweaving. Contact your local authority for details of where they run these courses, though they are likely to franchise them out to your local FE College.
I am not aware of a web site for all FE Colleges, so it depends where you live. They generally offer courses with qualifications at the end of them, and some may deliver on-line. Find out which is your closest general FE college and search for them. They will generally have a web address ending in .ac.uk .
Happy searching.

I'm currently doing an OU course - if you go for this option, it is a lot of hard work and will eat up your spare time, but can be a lot of fun, especially if you take a course with a summer school. There's a huge range of courses to choose from, but bear in mind that this is a university, so some of the work can be quite intense (especially when an assignment is due in 3 weeks and you haven't even started the block that covers 2 of the 3 questions).
